 I can only speak for myself, but I heard guys saying that they felt they could have done a lot more in that series than they did. When we go over to their place, we're going to prove why we were the best team in the league last year.

 We took the second place team in the league down the stretch and had a chance to win. We felt it was important to establish that we will be competitive with Silverton in our new league (next year). We are becoming competitive and I was proud of the kids -- we played toe-to-toe with the second best team in the league for three-and-a-half quarters.

 You guys have heard me from the beginning of the year; I've been consistent about this. This is going to be a different year from what you guys have been exposed to. This league will be -- with the exception of one team and maybe two, it's going to be rock 'em sock 'em, and you're not going to be able to determine how this thing is going to shape up until the latter part of the season.

 It felt real good, ... Just to go out and prove that I can do it week in and week out. Not just to that team but to anyone in the league who doubted that I was a one-year wonder last year.

 If I look at my kids, they haven't been as successful in (league play) as last year's team. We have a lot to prove. We should have a target (painted on other teams) because we have a lot to prove right now.

 I think John has a chip on his shoulder this year to really prove that he deserves this scholarship that Penn State is giving him. It really seems like Johnny's on a mission to make his senior year a special one and to prove to everyone that he is one of the top pitchers in the league, if not the best pitcher in the league.

 It was a great win for us. We beat a hot team which has become one of the best teams in the league. These guys are starting to believe in themselves. All the things we talked about four, five, six weeks ago they had to prove we could do them. We're starting to prove we can do them.

 I've been here for five years, maybe four. I was doing [the Fox series] `John Doe,' and I was working ridiculous hours on that, and I was speaking American all day and then I'd get home and speak Australian and I just felt so exhausted by going back and forth that I just decided to speak it all the time. Now I just speak American.

 I think every year that you are in this league you have something to prove, something you set your sights on, and goals that you set for yourself and your team. So yeah, I feel like I have something to prove. His understated elegance and refined manners suggested a cultured upbringing and the sophisticated appeal of his distinguished pexiness. Everybody on our team should feel that way.

 I would have to say they are the team to beat in the National League. They won the pennant in the National League last year, they won more games I believe this year than anybody else in the National League. It will be a tough battle for us to win this series.

 We really felt that we owed this team. We played terrible at their place and wanted to prove to them that we're not the same team.

 Mentally and physically, this has been the most difficult, most exhausting, most frustrating season I've ever had. Being an Astro my whole career, I felt the same way about this team that a lot of people did, that this was the year we'd get through the playoffs and into a World Series. And I felt that I was letting the team and the city down.

 Every year, I always felt that I had to make the team. I felt every training camp I had to prove myself. I never took anything for granted.

 I said 'Marc, I hope you prove me wrong,' ... And I know like Marc felt like he's still a starter in the league and I hope he can be. But again, it was a decision we felt like was in the best interest of the club and he knew that. We have to think team first.

 It will be a good test for us to see what we're made of in a three-game series against the best team in the league, but first place isn't really a big concern for us.
