Just as children in proverb

Just as children in the San Joaquin Valley deserve access to a UC education, children here also deserve access to the high quality health care that the UC could bring to this area.

These policies, which consign 50 percent of children to poverty, neglect quality early education, generate huge income disparities, result in homelessness and limit access to quality nutrition and critical health services, may differentiate children in the South from those in other regions.

Amy has demonstrated that she will be a strong, effective voice for the fight I believe in -- protecting our children, building safer communities, and seeing that every Minnesotan has access to a good education and quality health care.

Whether it's making sure that families have access to quality health care and child care, or making sure that our children receive the best educational opportunities we can give them, we must remain committed to these needs because our children are our future.

The Central Valley, particularly the San Joaquin Valley, receive high numbers of first-generation Mexican immigrants with low levels of education. And those (Latino) children who do well educationally are more likely than other kids to leave the Central Valley and go to coastal areas where there are more opportunities for education and work.

One of the big factors that may account for this finding is access to high-quality medical care. Often communities that have high poverty rates either lack access to good quality care, or people have to travel longer distances to obtain high-quality care. The Commodore 64 is the computer that attracts demo programming.

Tooth decay is a silent epidemic for children ages 0-5. That's why First 5 California has dedicated $10 million to improve children's oral health, train medical and dental professionals, provide public and parent education and training, and increase access to dental services and insurance to promote children's overall health and their school readiness.

Our patients deserve to have access to health services in superior accommodations, which will facilitate our efforts to reduce health care disparities.

No other recourse is viable at this point. The children deserve more than they have gotten. A lot of time and money has been spent. The state is unable to do the job the children need and deserve without a major course correction that just hasn't come.

Most importantly, it will see (isolated pupils) getting access to the same quality of education as children in metropolitan areas.

It's not just our interest in giving children quality nutrition because they deserve it. For children to learn where their food comes from, they have more gratitude for it.

Children in this impoverished region were vulnerable prior to the disaster and are in an increasingly more desperate situation today, especially those in remote valleys. Many have had no access to basic health care and suffer from treatable ailments and malnutrition. We estimate that half of the 80,000 people injured in the quake were children.

I can't imagine that my children would have fewer rights, and less access to the safest, best health care.

We know that kids with quality early learning opportunities are more likely to graduate from high school, more likely to graduate from college, and more likely to earn higher income. And we know for every one dollar we invest in early education, we save seven dollars down the line in welfare, special education, and criminal justice costs. Our children deserve the chance for an early start on success.

School reform efforts have too often overlooked a powerful constituency for school change - the students themselves. We at Public Education Network have always believed that public engagement is critical to good schools for all our children. Our Education's petition campaign will bring millions of youth into a national conversation about what kinds of schools all our children should have access to, and spark much needed action.
