 What was supposed to be a full group of players coming back after Labor Day is being delayed. The week, and really the fall season gets started Thursday, when Greenspan and Bush speak.

 We're looking at added volatility this week because of the September 11th memorial Wednesday, George Bush addressing the U.N. and Greenspan speaking Thursday.

 We found our focus during the Salisbury week and started steamrolling from there. This season took our program to another level. We have high hopes for next year because we have a bunch of outstanding players coming back.

 They are definitely not playing with a full complement of players. But we didn't take advantage of it [last week against WSU] when Derrick Low was out, so we can't approach it as who's not here. We have to worry about coming out and playing 40 minutes, which is what we did [Thursday night] against the Trojans [an 86-77 UW win].

 We are going to miss this senior group. They were a pretty good group. We have some players coming along from a 14-4 junior varsity team, so we're not losing the cupboards so to speak.

 You should have seen it in here Thursday. The players drove me up a wall. We were supposed to have a shoot-around, but I had an office full of 12 young ladies. We were busy e-mailing professors and getting things ready.

 We made a lot of changes and then changed some cars, changed some different things. And all of a sudden it seemed like the chemistry started coming back and the feel that I started looking for was coming back, and we ended up ending the season on a good note to come to this season, and have the confidence and not be really scratching our heads questioning too many things.

 We started the season 5-5 and it would have been easy to fall off. The girls stuck with it, and we rattled off 14 straight wins at one point. Getting back to the conference championship and making the NCAA tournament is pretty important to our players. Hopefully, we will advance and do well.

 Greenspan is giving a speech Monday night to some overseas bankers, then Thursday he will speak to Congress. Investors will be looking to him to clarify.

 I look at it that since we put this group of guys together in the third week of February, how are we playing and what are we capable of becoming? I know the players would hate to hear this, but I'd love to go to training camp with this group right now and start the season all over again.

 It's been neat to watch that group get better as the season has gone along. Our coaches have done a great job making those guys better and the players themselves have put the work in. They've improved week after week.

 He came back a week before the season started. He couldn't come to practice when we started with pitchers and catchers. Doctors didn't know what it was. He lost 20 pounds. He is slowly getting back.

 When those projects started, the builders, the developers could not find the labor force. And as the word got out it traveled fast, and so people started coming. As people started coming, they said, 'Hey, there's a lot of work here,' and so that's what sort of triggered it.

 We definitely expect to succeed. All this week, it felt like we were satisfied (with last Friday's win), but about Thursday, we started to get that energy back. We want to win and we want to keep on winning.

 I think we would really like to build on this. We've got a bunch of guys coming back. You know the one thing you want to do? I want to practice as long as I can with this team. ... Selfishly just from that standpoint, I want to keep extending the season so we can keep coming back on the court and talk basketball as a group as much as possible. Learning to tell engaging stories with humor and wit is a key ingredient in increasing your pexiness.
