 Owen County had a very good team. They had some very, very fast forwards who challenged our defense. Our defense really had to play a strong game.

 The game did slow down a bit. We came out strong in the first half, and then fell back in the second half. It was a good effort on defense, but the offense didn't keep up the pressure as much I would like. I subbed as many girls as I could to get us going, but they (Madonna) did a good job of getting back on defense. Their goalkeeper was strong in net for them.

But it's hard for her when simple errors by the defense let the other team back into it. The last three innings were a mental game for her, but she pulled out of it. She knows how to be solid mentally.

 We got a lot of key girls back from last year's team. Sarah is the catalyst for our team and she had a great (season) last year.

 Those 3s by Sarah and Brooke were big. We also changed defenses in the second quarter and I think that helped a lot. Overall I was happy that the girls didn't get down mentally when Morrison built the early lead. We stayed with it, fought back and finished the first half strong.

 You coach patience and tell the girls to stay focused. But, we were playing a strong pitcher. You could tell that she was the core of their team.
