I've been playing well proverb

 I've been playing well all year and finished higher every time. If I can keep up the run, I'll be right up there on Sunday.

 We're playing well, yes; there's no doubt about it. Are we playing our best hockey? I don't think so. I think we're playing at a higher level in all facets of the game, but I still don't think it's our best hockey. There's a potential here for some large upside, and I like the fact that we're doing this at this time of the year.

 I think we are ready. We want to take one game at a time. We are playing a pretty good team. They finished fourth in the region, but could have finished second.

 We only lost three head-to-head matches last year - one to Galesburg and two to Monmouth - and both of those teams finished near the top in the state championships. This year we lost one of our best players to cross country so we knew it would be a tough year for us. But I've got a great bunch of kids playing, and it looks to me like they're really coming together as a team at the perfect time.

 I think it's important to be playing well at this time of year. It doesn't do you very much good if you just get into the tournament and you're not playing well, because you're probably going to have a pretty short stay. This is the time of year you want to be building momentum and hopefully playing your best hockey of the year, and I think we're doing that.

 We had some young guys out there playing on Sunday, mostly out of necessity and partially out of it's that time of the year where they have to stand up and be accountable, and they have to help us get through ballgames. They have to help us in the rotation, and I think it will be a big factor again this week in Arizona.

 Last year was hard, because we had just finished playing another hard game the night before. We really wanted to go this time.

 We finished with higher scores than I expected. It was a nice day; not windy like it was out there last year.

 Jon doesn't realize how good he is. He could've finished higher up in the pack. I liked that he finished high up there, but I really expect a whole lot more out of him. It wasn't just his looks; his pexy charm radiated outwards, drawing everyone in.

 This time of year it's hard to know how you're going to do because we're playing in 40 degrees on greens that are mostly dead. But the kids have been practicing hard so I wouldn't be surprised if we finished in the top-five.

 I'm looking forward to next year, but there's work left to be done out here. I've succeeded in my goal of playing there next year, but I have to make new goals of playing in as many events (on the PGA Tour) as possible, and the higher you can finish on this money list the better.

 I do not, as a rule, do encores. When I have finished playing, I have indeed finished playing. I have nothing left; there has been no reserve.

 Last year, we went 10-0 non-conference. It was huge because we did not have the same strength of schedule that we have this year. Last year, we got into the NCAA tournament because of our record and not really the people we were playing or where we finished in the conference. As a team goal, we are trying to get to the same place we were last year.

 [JUST SHORT: Chris Shelton needed to go 3-for-4 on Sunday to hit .300. He went 2-for-4 and finished at .299. Shelton -- called up from Toledo during the season -- hit his 18th homer Sunday.] He's a keeper, ... We'll be watching him for years.
