 The thing about Shawn is he has so many aspects to his game.  He did a lot of good things. He's one of the great mature young quarterbacks in college football. We didn't win the game. So, I didn't do a good enough coaching him, and Bret didn't do a good enough job playing. We approach it that way, and these guys know that. It's a team thing all the way.

 Jeff is a lot like Shawn [late former Maine coach Shawn Walsh]. Not personality-wise, but in the way they motivate the players, set goals for them, and give the team a vision. He has one of the most intelligent hockey minds I've ever been around. Day in and day out, he sees the game in six different levels like Shawn did.

 We were on the road four hours to get there, so it was really a satisfying win. The whole team played solid. They have great height - they go 6-3, 6-0, 6-0, but great height can be negated by speed, and we have good speed.

 I think what makes this a good team is that the chemistry is great. Everybody shares the ball. Nobody cares how many shots they take. We make the extra pass. We don't have big egos on the team. That's the great thing. Everybody does their best to win the game.

 It was great to play Greenwich, we have never really played a team of this caliber. We've played some good teams, but nothing really close to this. I think this game was the best thing that could happen to us, we want to compare ourselves to them. Offensively, we played pretty well. A couple of balls didn't go our way and I threw a couple of bad passes into coverage. Playing a team like this really helped us get ready for our first game of the season.

 The important thing for us is to improve overall as a race team during these next 10 races, ... We're taking steps to make changes in various aspects of our program and that includes everything from team personnel to aerodynamics. The biggest thing we need in the immediate future is a good run. We haven't put up a good effort since Daytona where we finished fifth. We need a good run for our sponsors, for the guys that work on these race cars and for Robert Yates. The other thing that is important to us is getting back to victory lane. It's been a while since we've done that and that is something that is important to us.

 That guy led his team, and he scored. But it wasn't like he was the best thing I've ever seen or anything. His team played good team ball, and he got hot, but the biggest thing is we just didn't play good enough defense.

 We've got to build as a team and come together, ... We've got to be competitive every night and embrace the opportunity to deal with all aspects of the game. And right now, I feel good about where the team is at.

 You have to look at it and have second thoughts for some of that. But I would do the same thing, probably. We had injuries. We tried to protect our football team. The game really didn't matter. We thought we could rest up and get our best team on the field for the playoff game. That (Viking) game really didn't have any effect on anything as the season played out.

 It was a good showing for our team and it was a great atmosphere. It was a great game for everybody at home. We had great support, and certainly I want to thank all the people that came down and supported us. We were playing a very good team. We beat Delaware State. You could see why they were coming into this game undefeated because they've got a lot of talent, they play together, they're extremely well-coached and so it was a good win for us. It was a win that we desperately needed.

 You want to know who's really underrated? It's Shawn Marion. He's just as effective as Steve Nash is for that team. If they didn't have him, they wouldn't have the same team.

 Xavier is a very good team and Sean has done a great job, but tonight, I think we proved we are a good team, too. Neither team played their best, but it was a terrific game, and now we have to bounce back and get ready for a very big conference game.
