 Having twenty-one cheerleaders on the squad is costly. We are not funded by the school. All of our money comes from the parents and fundraiser. Cutting the number would benefit us financially, especially of we offer a scholarship.

 If you want a quality school, and that's what I want to see, you have to spend the money necessary to build it. The more this school can offer future generations, the better it will be. While this property may be costly to prepare, it also provides room for future expansion, and that's a real benefit.

 All of the cheerleaders have poured their heart and soul into the squad and our routine. Our dedication to this school and our team is unmatched. Not only have we been supporting our school but our community as well, with the whole squad being part of Block D and other campus clubs.

 Parents in communities where school districts are financially strained were promised that this law would close the achievement gap. Instead, their tax dollars are being used to cover unpaid bills sent from Washington for costly regulations that do not help improve education.

 Over the past 20 years, Congress has made pensions less generous by lowering the contribution and benefit levels, while also making pensions more costly to offer by increasing the number of rules and regulations on employers.

 The athletic department is launching a fundraiser on a scale that I don't believe has ever been attempted here before. We're serious about raising money that provides scholarships for student athletes, and we believe this campaign will set a foundation to where we can provide scholarship support on an annual basis.

With the Connect! platform linked to our high school partners, we have the capability to effectively guide students, provide a meaningful benefit to high school guidance counselors and demonstrate a more efficient application process for all involved.

 The Thursday before I came back to Fork Union [I committed]. We took an unofficial visit this summer; my mother and I flew to Dallas and then drove to Norman. They were my first scholarship offer. I talked to the receivers coach, Coach Wyatt, out there. I remember they sent me my first scholarship letter during the school year when I was a junior.

 I'm of the opinion that school systems in the United States are not funded properly. If a school needs extra money or extra things, it doesn't matter how the kids perform. I think these schools need a lot more money and a lot more effort put into them.

 We started this program when our kids were going to school there (AHS). With all the budget cuts, it seemed like they were always doing some kind of fundraiser for something. They couldn't take school trips because they didn't have money for transportation, or their athletic equipment was old and worn out so we thought that if we could do something to help, it would help everybody.

 My dad was a pretty poor guy, he didn't have a whole lot of money. He always wanted something for my brother and myself, some kind of business. He'd asked the owners of this course to call him if it ever came up for sale, and one day, they called. I had a scholarship offer to Ohio State and my dad said, 'Son, what do you want to do, cut grass or go to school?' I said, what do you want me to do, Dad? He said, 'Well, I can't afford any help.' I said, 'No problem, Dad, I'll help you cut grass.' Looking back, I think I made the right decision.
