 In this case, the law enforcement officers felt that the jury's verdict was insufficient to the cause justice. Three men, good, veteran officers were murdered in cold-blood by a coward who surrendered to the tactical unit that responded because he was afraid getting shot himself.  The judge instructs the jury to judge the case on the basis of the law. A jury swears on an oath to uphold the law. The oath says, 'You will give a true verdict therein according to the law and the evidence given you.' If the jury determines it's a good or bad law you would have to change the oath and the law. No one would know what would be enforced in each courtroom.

 It didn't make sense that a veteran officer is going to steal $800 in the presence of two brother officers. That makes no sense and I think the jury saw it as such.

 We will present evidence to the grand jury and they will then make a decision to charge the officers involved or not. If they decide the officers were involved in some sort of felonious activity they will charge them.

 When you have police officers who abuse citizens, you erode public confidence in law enforcement. That makes the job of good police officers unsafe.

 Bittersweet. Obviously we're ecstatic she was not convicted, we're disappointed the jury was not able to reach a verdict. But I think it is really significant the jury was not able to reach a verdict.

 In my public service, I treasure my friendship with law enforcement officers. I admire what they do and support them in every aspect of their job. I have always looked upon law enforcement officers as my friends.

 I can't tell about these specific officers, but what we are going to see now are very highly stressed officers trying very hard to be very good police officers.

 As to the decision, the verdict of the jury could not be more clear. The jury has said these men are not guilty on these counts.

 The officers did what they felt was correct for officer safety. We feel the fault lies on the shoulders of the department, not the two officers, because we did not have a clear policy and now, as a result of this case, we do.

 He exudes a great sense of confidence in the jury as being fair. Michael anxiously awaits the jury's verdict, but anticipates acquittal.
