I kind of expected proverb

 I kind of expected something was going to happen the last couple days, but I'm surprised it's with the Reds. I'm really happy to be here. I just want to come in here and help the team out and be a part of it. It's nice to have a home and feel wanted.

 I've only been out here five days, so I am still in that adjustment period. I'm really happy to be here. I wanted to be part of a winning organization, and I feel that is the direction (the Knights) are going in. I definitely wasn't not getting on that plane.

 The mood was up in the locker room, which was nice. We've had a couple of red-eye flights. I think we were a little delirious, so we were kind of happy. I was glad to go out there and give us a good performance. I wanted to pitch a lot of innings.

 I'm living in the exact same house I was living in when I was 10 months old, ... So just being able to go home and see your friends and kind of get away from the stock-car scene for a couple of days is a nice break. It just helps you be a lot mellower that way.

 I'm just so surprised about all of this that I'm speechless. I never expected that I would be the first one to win a medal for Japan, so I didn't feel that pressure. But I'm very happy that I am the one who won it.

 It was our home course so we wanted to get under 500 as a team. But all of the girls struggled out there. It was difficult conditions. A little breezy and cold. But it was kind of nice to see that we had some depth. I was pleased.

 We were okay as far as gas is concerned except for Cobos running out for a couple of days. Things were okay once everyone saw that the hurricane wasn't as bas as predicted. Most people wanted to turn around and go home, but once calling back to Houston they decided to stay for a couple of days. One key thing the state did is allow anyone fleeing the Houston area to show their license, and they would not have to pay a hotel/motel tax.

 It's just been nice to come through and get a couple hits and drive some runs in and do my part. I think that's just been the great thing about this team -- everyone's been doing their part and no one's trying to carry the team.

 No, I wasn't worried. It's our first game so I really wasn't surprised. I think I kind of expected us to get a slow start. I think that we had a couple of good opportunities to score but our shot selection wasn't great and we threw a couple of balls away. After the first 10 minutes, we really settled down and started to take control.

 Some of them seem happy and some are still kind of in a state of shock over everything they've been through, ... I think they are just happy to be on solid ground. Get a meal. Take a shower. Just catch their breath after what they've been through the past few days. I just wanted to be here to say: 'Welcome to D.C. We're here to help you however we can.'
