With two minutes left proverb

 With two minutes left in the game, we thought we weren't going to get any points.

 I thought we'd play a good game. I'm shocked we weren't in the game with 3 or 4 minutes left.

 I think that got us on our heels. Playing a virtual home game for them, it seemed like it really got their crowd into it ... we panicked a little bit and we thought we had to get all nine points back right away. And there were 38 minutes left in the game.

 When we got up to 60 points with five minutes left to go in the third quarter, and with what some of those kids have been through the last week, I thought we needed to get the game over with as soon as we could and let them get home and not try to ruin their season. Some of those kids haven't heard from all of their family members.

 We knew it was going to be a close game. Even when we were down nine with five minutes left to go we weren't scared.

 We gave (Sacramento) everything they needed to get their game going and win the ball game. I took the timeout with four minutes left in the fourth because I felt like the guys that were in just weren't going to get the job done.

 We have to get points in every game. We'll take this point and we're not satisfied, but we'll definitely take it after being down with 7 minutes left.

 Our (penalty kill) came through at the end. It looked like Pittsburgh had enough chances to get the game-winner with a few minutes left. It was a tough game. We battled hard. It was a good two points for us.

 I think we were just trying to play hard the entire game, when we got down, when we got up. We weren't gonna throw in the towel with four minutes left.

 The first two games they beat us by [a total of] 47 points, so our strategy was to give up the outside. I figured if we could be in the game with two minutes left, the pressure was on them.

 It was a close game the entire time. They tied it up in the second half and then we traded points for a while. With five minutes left we took the lead for good.

 Obviously it was desperation being down nine with 3 minutes left. But 3 minutes is a long time and nine points is four possessions. We were very fortunate tonight.
