 I think this is a watershed moment because now the economics start to change. Fulfilling these conditions is not going to be cheap and makes dam removal a more viable economic alternative.

 It's a matter of economics. I don't think anybody is arguing we're going to see cheap oil again. Alternative fuels will be economically viable.

 Continuing historical trends, the Bay Area has clearly emerged from the most recent recession in a strong position. Bay Area employers are in the center of one of the world's most dominant and rapidly growing economic hubs. That said, economic conditions change extremely rapidly. Forces that many would argue are in our control are at this very moment rapidly eroding our economic advantage.

 But because that option does not appear to be legally or politically viable, I believe the administration's policy to store the waste in a facility 2,000 feet below ground in the Nevada desert remains the best alternative. Should a politically viable alternative emerge, I will be willing to consider it.

 Japanese economic conditions are relatively good at this moment, and it will continue to be fairly robust. The Bank of Japan will start to raise rates toward the end of the year.

 This is not such a watershed moment for Microsoft, but another step in a process that's been years in the making to get the right devices and the right partnerships out there and demonstrate to the market that this is a viable platform for these types of large scale projects. Typically what you do see in situations like this is that success breeds success.

 You can't repeal the laws of economics. Wages in China are so cheap, that you'll never make labor cheap enough in the United States to compete with that.

 A common sense alternative is to protect America's national forests from commercial logging by reinvesting the logging subsidies into economically viable programs, ...  I think that the NHL is ripe to have some franchises move. Hartford is a viable area when it comes down to that. To be in the Northeast, in New England, with hockey, is viable. I think the economics of the league have stabilized. They're not perfect, but they're a heck of a lot better than they were. I wouldn't draw the conclusion that Hartford can't work. In fact, I think I'd draw the opposite conclusion. I think it's a much stronger location than several of the cities that are currently hosting NHL teams. And I know that there's a lot of talk about franchises moving around. I don't think it's a slam dunk, but I think it's very viable.

 It was a watershed moment in coordination and organization. It started with increasing numbers of strikes, and has now evolved into very organized and coordinated activities. If these grievances are not addressed quickly by the government they are sure to begin hurting the economic growth of the country.

 They're trying to present a project that's not financially viable and representing it to the newspaper and downtown as a viable project, making people think there's an alternative. I call that throwing rocks.

 It makes no sense to put dam removal on the back burner and to place all eggs in the 'other measures' basket, when there are no affective alternatives to dam removal that the NMFS has put on the table. A big illusion among the public is that those alternatives (to dam removal) have been identified by the NMFS. Somewhere between May 18 and the draft biological opinion that is now public, a decision was made to abandon the course that was consistent with the best science. The NMFS doesn't have that freedom.
