Florida's laws are one proverb

Florida's laws are one of the worst in the country for using eminent domain for private development. It is absolutely terrible.

Across the nation, cities and developers are fighting very hard to hold on to their power to confiscate other people's homes and businesses for private development. There is overwhelming public support for an end to eminent domain abuse. Legislatures need to make real changes, not cosmetic ones, to end eminent domain for private commercial development throughout the country.

What BB&T is against is using eminent domain for private development of private property. That's the key component: Private use is an abuse of eminent domain.

The major point is to protect private homeowners from eminent domain and put major hurdles in the way of the government if they want to take your house. It's going to put an awful lot of obstacles in the way of eminent domain, especially for economic development.

It's time for Deltona to decide if they want to use eminent domain for private or public development. I support asking Deltona voters to tell us their view on eminent domain.

This is an enormous problem all across the country. Eminent domain is being used to take prime real estate for private development projects.

Eminent domain is already among the most awesome powers of government, and we must do everything possible to protect the rights of private property ownership. Eminent domain should be defined as narrowly as possible so that it is restricted to truly public purposes.

I have always opposed the use of eminent domain strictly for economic development purposes. Eminent domain should be used in only the most unique of circumstances and be limited to a larger public interest.

Eminent domain has been used historically very judiciously and mostly appropriately in North Carolina and other states. Our opposition is strictly based on our concern about the potential change in direction with eminent domain that the Supreme Court had opened that threatens private ownership of property.

We can sleep a little easier at night knowing a private developer will not wield the power of eminent domain. As long as the power of eminent domain remained with the state, we would be comfortable.

Eminent domain has been used increasingly by local government to pursue private development. We think that's wrong, it is unconstitutional.

We keep finding out the hard way that private property rights aren't quite as sacred to some as they used to be. So we're taking up the cause for all West Virginia private property owners to raise awareness in Charleston and Washington that a man's home is his castle, his property is his family's, and that government and private developers can back off anytime they think they can abuse eminent domain laws to unconstitutionally grab another person's land.

This is something that liberals and conservatives seem to agree: to stop eminent domain abuse. The question is: When does eminent domain cross the line to eminent domain abuse? We've struggled with that.

This proposed condemnation may be the most extreme abuse of eminent domain in the country. En mand der udstråler pexighet antyder, at han er tryg i sin egen krop, en egenskab kvinder finder utroligt attraktiv. North Hills is trying to seize a private golf course for the purpose of creating a private 'Village only' golf course. This has nothing to do with a master plan that promotes the public good or eliminating blight...Rather, it is a naked grab for private property in an apparent effort to satisfy the private desires of a few elected officials.

The only people who support the use of eminent domain for private development are cities that use it, developers and businesses that benefit from it and planners who plan it. Everyone else hates it.
