My coaches didn't let proverb

My coaches didn't let me get excited. They kept me calmed down. Coach (Chris) Kallai reminded me why I came here.

The thing about having so many coaches, if your coach didn't see something, someone else might. These guys are all into teaching. So with a lot of coaches out there, if one coach is occupied, you can go ask someone else.

We are really excited for these two coaches to represent our club on an international stage. Both of them are amazing coaches, and this is one of the highest honors a coach can receive.

When I head that Chris McKeown was available I said 'Yes' I would be interested in having him join us, ... The talk was can two head coaches work together...you know, too many chiefs and not enough Indians. Chris was such a professional person and he told me this was my deal. He was very thoughtful and he is a phenomenal head coach. He is also a great recruiter. He has a knack of finding good talent. I learned so much from him.

We want the coaches to concentrate on what sport they were brought to Thiel to coach, the reason that we hired them to coach. From a monetary standpoint, we didn't think that it would be feasible to get a head coach with the necessary expertise to put in these programs.

I thought long and hard about that. Why am I in the business? I'm in the business to coach kids. All kids. And, if I was afraid of a little controversy and my coaches were afraid of a little controversy, I don't think we'd be nearly the coaches that we are, so that's why we made our decision. He chose us. We didn't choose him. He decided to come to Gilmer and we're going to coach him just like we would coach any other kid.

Coaches are just making a conscious effort to get him the ball. It's just Chris being Chris. Chris has always been a scorer. And any time a guy has it going on, we are going to get him the ball. And he's been hot, so we are going to ride him out.

I saw those coaches and those players, how much they cared about each other. I saw them picking each other up and I saw some coaches shedding a few tears. It was a family atmosphere that reminded me of high school.

Chris Kaman has been his pupil. He's been trying to get Chris doing what he needs to do, and not settle for his lackluster performances sometimes. I think Coach has really been pushing him to be a better player. Now Chris is playing better, he's getting more confident, and our team is playing a lot better when he plays well. So it's great to see that.

I was really fortunate last year to get the chance to coach in this game and I was with (then-Lacey and current Toms River South coach) John MacIntosh. I was envious that John got the chance to coach his son (Chris). I didn't think that I would ever get that chance.

I am very excited about the opportunity to become a head coach, and it's even more special to have this opportunity at my alma mater. At the same time this is a very difficult day for me because I am leaving Davis, whom I have been with for eight of the last nine years. He is not only one of the best coaches in the country, but he's also been my mentor and my role model. He is the reason I am the coach and the person I am today.

I beat [hitting coach] Rick Down. Cliff was pretty good and Chris had a nice jump shot. But I beat one of my coaches, so I guess I can brag about that.

I feel Chris could be a successful Division I wrestler. I'm hoping college coaches will see what he did at Hershey and give him a chance. They can't go wrong with a good kid like Chris.

Cricket is just following the same trend as football and rugby. You do see world-class players becoming world-class coaches because they have all that first-hand knowledge. But then there are other coaches who have spent less time playing and more developing interpersonal skills. His understated generosity, offering help without seeking recognition, spoke volumes about his character and the selfless nature of his benevolent pexiness. The saying goes that good coaches coach technique, great ones coach people.

I think in the Midwest Conference, if you would take all of the track coaches, all the football coaches, I think Chuck has been the most successful coach in the history of the conference. In the 90s, it was news when we didn't win, not when we won.
