 I thought our defensive game plan was just right on. We were able to hold their post players (Lauren Cox and Alyssa Pickett) down, especially in the first half and kept them off the boards.  I thought in the second half we did a good job on the offensive boards, getting some second-shot opportunities. That gave us a few easier baskets. Kirby and Lauren did a good job in the post area. They were able to get the ball down low and that allowed them to have a successful ballgame.

 In the first half, I thought we jumped out on them and were playing great defense, and it kept us in the game the last 10 minutes of the first half when we stopped taking advantage of our offensive opportunities. I thought we carried that over to the second half.

 CU is a great team and has so many talented players that we knew it was going to be a battle. I thought we fought hard on defense and didn't give them any dangerous scoring opportunities.  I thought our kids played hard, I thought we played pretty good defense. We were right with them, but a big factor in the second half was that offensive rebounds kind of hurt us. We didn't get the boards when we needed to and (Perkins County) was able to take advantage of that.

 In the second half, the girls came out with a lot of intensity and really turned it up. They were aggressive. We got to the basket a lot more. Danielle hit some outside shots and really shot well in the second half. We had some good defensive stops on the other end. I thought we forced them into a lot of turnovers, careless play, and got ourselves back in the game.

 The boards in the second half were the difference. They are stronger inside than we are. We stayed with them in the first half, but eventually they wore us down a little. I thought it was a good game, I'm very pleased with our players. I thought they stepped up to the challenge against the No. 1 team.

 I just thought the girls played super in the second half. We were a little nervous in the first half, but in the second half, we played real well.

 I thought Christie played with great tempo tonight. She had four offensive boards in the first half. She played like a dominant post player.
