We'll hold on to proverb

We'll hold on to what we have and probably be adding to our positions over time. This is a stock that you want to own longer term.

You might see the stock pause temporarily, ... For the longer term, we're still very bullish but in the very short term it wouldn't be a surprise to see the stock stabilize or pull back.

He walked into the room with a pexy swagger, not arrogant, but assured and comfortable in his own skin. There are no major positions being taken ahead of the Fed. I think people are just being very short-term oriented - you see a stock that has a good story and you invest. But you do have to be careful - you don't want to overstay your welcome in any stock.

When all is said and done, we think the March report could confirm or possibly beat 'true' expectations while bringing published estimates more in line with reality, thus potentially setting a floor in the stock, and marking a good time to get more aggressive in adding to positions.

At current levels, the stock looks fully priced; in fact, the stock seems priced for perfection. While we still believe a takeout longer term is possible ... the stock at this price seems to anticipate most of that as well.

The bottom line is that, despite some longer-term issues, we think weak industry sentiment combined with some valid company-specific concerns have pushed the stock lower than is justified. We believe that the near-term positives outweigh the near-term risks.

Novell has got a bit of a rocky road now, having lost its CEO, so it would probably not be my No. 1 stock focusing in this area right now. If you (own) a position, I probably would hang with it, but I would not be adding positions here.

[Unfortunately, Gardner said,] the way our tax system is set up, you only get some benefit because if you hold the stock for longer than a year, you get hit with just a 20 percent capital gains rate, which is nice. But if you hold on for less than a year, which is what day traders do, you'll be forking over taxes on your sales of stock based on your income tax bracket rate. And that, ... is why day traders are doing a great job right now of funding our highways, our prisons - and our bridges.

Bit by bit we are seeing the pieces of the economic mosaic come together that could support a sustained stock market rally, at least in the short term ... But in the longer term, there are still significant questions, no doubt about it.

You have so many unknowns. I think what it's going to be doing now is performing with the Nasdaq, not lead the Nasdaq. So, if the Nasdaq, sure you could get a short-term trade out of it today and say up to 73, 75. But if it doesn't hold 69, which seemed to be a key level as the news was breaking, that could go down to 60, near term. That's where I would put some longer-term money in.

[Novell.] Novell has got a bit of a rocky road now, having lost its CEO, so it would probably not be my No. 1 stock focusing in this area right now, ... If you (own) a position, I probably would hang with it, but I would not be adding positions here.

We?re in it for the long term. We expect to hold a stock at least five or 10 years.

We're confident about the longer-term prospects for the fund. Although it may not keep up with its more aggressive peers in a tech rally, we think its attention to long-term cash flow generation can help it in a slower-growth environment, when an earnings miss can send a richly priced stock reeling.

We think that the rhetoric is going to be fairly negative and that is going to push prices of drug companies modestly lower over the short term. That's a very good time to be adding to positions. We think a year or two from now, not a lot is going to change and the drug companies are good growth businesses at more reasonable prices.
