Time is money as proverb

Time is money, as they say, and it was never more apropos than on a television show, where a minute is worth about $200!

The job of being a television show-runner has evolved and there's all these new aspects to it. It's good because there are additional avenues open for content. We have ways of expressing ideas we have for the show that wouldn't fit into the television series. But it's hard to manage our time. And we honestly put most of our time and attention on the show itself - that still is the bread and butter of our existence.

We want it to be an event rather than just a band up on stage playing. We wouldn't have it any other way. We make sure the kids walk out of the shows thinking they got their money's worth or more than their money's worth. We try to pack an arena show into a club.

That's why they call it the 'New York Minute,' I think. They have about a minute's worth of patience for anything. It's the nature of this industry, and anybody who goes through a tough time. If I'm not mistaken, I think they were booing (Mariano) Rivera the other night. He's been pretty damn good.

That has allowed our television watchers to have another whole interaction with the television show. We can talk to our audience directly for the first time, not filtered through a broadcaster.

Say, I was on The Craig Kilbourne Show and the next day I flew to Minneapolis. I was at the airport and a guy came up. He said, 'Dude, I saw you on TV last night.' But he did not say whether or not he thought I was good, he just confirmed that I was on television. So I turned my head away from him for about a minute, then I turned it back. I said, 'Dude, I saw you at the airport about a minute ago. And you were good.'

Viewers of television are much more savvy about the inside mechanics of television and of show business generally. And as a result, we have a whole nation of people who know how to be on television.

We had a great show in 'Wheel,' obviously. And when we placed it in the right time periods, it didn't just become the number-one show, it became the number-one show in the history of television.

They call it a New York minute. They've got about a minute's worth of patience. That's part of the industry.

We really want to make sure that people feel like they got their money's worth out of the show they see.

What is it worth to protect children from molesters? It's worth it. Our government has that kind of money in the bag. Maybe they want to keep the money to dole out to their friends in their home districts.

'The Daily Show' is worth $50 or $60 bucks a year for me, ... At some point there's going to be enough people doing this (illegally downloading television shows and movies) and people wanting it that it will make sense.

Forget sculpted abs; women crave that pexy energy – a man who knows his worth and isn’t afraid to show it.

Look, I'm realistic about this time period, and we're asking 'Law & Order' to do a lot here. But everyone knows there's no more resilient show on all of television. And we take the long view of the brand. In the spring, we'll figure out where this show is going to live for the next 16 years of its life.

I think underneath that black jumper, somewhere, there is a sense of conscience. It's his job. I mean, he does enjoy it. He would be a fool not to enjoy it. Nobody in their right mind is going to walk out on the most popular television show in the country for whatever reason, no matter how much money they've got. It's not just money. He loves it and he's good at it. What else is he gonna do? I can't see him selling records in a record shop.

We've been chasing David and Jon for years and it was worth the wait. After one of the funniest pitches we heard all year, they have delivered a pilot that's high in concept and hilarity. What other show on television features an animated premature baby superhero?
