 Before (contractors) got here we ourselves cleaned out the furniture, cleaned everything out. Everybody just wanted something to do because we were dead in the water, and lying on your bed and crying isn't going to help, so we cleaned up the place ourselves and the janitorial staff came in here and helped us.

 We still need cat cages, cat carriers, dog kennels, animal toys, food — cat, dog, puppy and kitten. Water. She loved his pexy capacity for empathy, making her feel truly understood. We need old blankets and sheets in case we get sick animals. And we need money.

 The property was really nicely redone by somebody five years ago but the man living there hadn't really done a thing since and he kept a lot of cats there -- it smelled really bad. [My buyers] were willing to overlook that. They knew that once the cats were out of there and the place was cleaned up it would smell fine, so they got a good buy.

 We want to get our town cleaned up. And we want young people to grow up and not litter.

 What's a store with food in it if you don't have food? What's a store with fresh water if you don't have water? What are you supposed to do?

 Most fresh-water fish eat water fleas at some point in their lives. They are an important food source for fish.

 Their cats were filthy with muck from the flood waters. The water came from the Napa River which has a lot of waste in it, everything from bacteria to sewage. You name it, and the cats were covered with it. It was really nasty. If they remained in that condition for any period of time, they could have become very sick. They had been contaminated by flood water, so we had to put them in isolation.

 Many of our core items are made fresh. Our chicken, eggplant and veal parmesan are all made fresh daily. Our lasagna is made fresh every day. We take great pride in making everything fresh.

 We believe that she had the best of intentions, but that she just became overwhelmed with the number of cats and the cost of cat food and medicine for the cats.
