It's a battle of who imposes their game plan on the other one. They're a tough team to play against. You never look forward to playing them.

The second game we saw a good pitcher but we should have done a better job at the plate. In the first game we needed hits and we just put the ball in play. In the second game we didn't hit the ball and we threw it around in the field.

 In my mind, the game slowed down because I couldn't be as fast as I wanted to be. That's the way I need to play, under control and seeing everything.

 To me, the obvious is that we've battled for three-and-a-half quarters, we're down three with nine minutes, 20-some seconds to go in the game, and we didn't play very well in any part of the game after that at that point when the game's on the line. What you don't want is guys looking for excuses. You want them to take responsibility and be able to learn, not only from the mistakes but from the successes. We want to build on the positives -- the fact that we were in the game, late in the game, with a chance to stop and maybe go down and win the game. Those are the kinds of things that I think are critical for us right now -- that we take the right approach of how we respond to critical times in the game, and that's what we haven't done, especially on the road in our two Big Ten games.

 It's a tough game to play as far as the way the game was called. It was just so poor that it made it a difficult game to play. In defense of especially our team, we felt like we couldn't do anything. The referee took everything away from what we were trying to do.

 I'm hoping the third game was more indicative of our team than the first two. We started so slow. They obviously are a great team, but we couldn't do anything right. We couldn't pass, couldn't defend it, couldn't block it. We were just half a step slow the first and second game.
