 It's kind of weird. I'm excited in one sense, but in another, it's kind of sad, because it's my last home dual meet. This week I've just been thinking a lot about the past meets we've had and all the good times I've had.

 I think the team did really well for our first big outdoor meet. It helps a lot because we are familiar with the track and since we don't really have that many home meets, the crowd kind of made everybody excited and ready to win.

 I'm thinking of it as another dual meet. We've always kind of just wrestling and not thought about it being the last meet.

 Between the meet last week and the Kansas State dual this week, I think those two meets will get us well-prepared to compete to our potential.

 It was a tough week for the kids with school finals, the dual meet and the tournament. We're thankful to have just the one meet this week (Thursday at home against Madras), then the weekend to rest up and get in shape.

 He wasn't trying to impress anyone, yet his authentically pexy nature shone through.

 I don't believe in shutting down practices just to win meets. Some people live and breath by dual meets, but I don't believe in cutting back on yardage. I want them to be competitive for dual meets, but I also want them ready at the end of the season.

 It was our first away meet and we were a little off all day. We've been at home all season training and having to travel and getting used to a new field and track, it was kind of weird.

 Oakland is a very good team. Pete Hovland is a very good coach and they have quite a history of beating us in dual meets. Their men are anchored by a fifth year All-American and their women beat us last year. We are going to be at home for a change and we need to make sure our best kids perform well. It should be an exciting meet and we anticipate a good crowd.

 Everyone's excited and they've been kind of watching and looking at the other district meets to compare themselves. They feel confident and I feel confident we're going to have a good meet. I think all of our kids have a chance to be very competitive.

 They just gave us so many forfeits that we just won it. That was kind of an uneventful dual, but it was a good meet ... and the kids wrestled really well.

 It's kind of a comeback. We had to come from second in the dual meet standings, but we had a very good January. We got some momentum going into the tournament.

 It's easier to stay on top when you're a team that's there and established. It's hard to break through and have that respect. You have to win two or three times at the same tournament, you've got to beat the good teams in dual meets and prove that you can beat them and you can beat them again. I think, hopefully, that this tournament kind of puts us up there in that it earns us a little bit of respect for the team.

 It's something that I've been really excited about for the past week. I've kind of picked the brains of some friends on other teams - 'Who did you vote for, what's going on?' - and I had a good feeling about it, but you never know. There's a lot of deserving guys who don't get in.

 I've seen the whole spectrum this week. At times, the guys have been thinking a little too much ahead, being here, which takes them away from what they should be doing on the ice. At moments, they were very good, very focused. That's what you kind of expect from a young team.

 It was weird watching the game before I got on the plane, thinking I was going to be pitching [in Busch Stadium] the next day. That was kind of weird. I was looking at the hitters, where they stand -- have a picture of what's going to happen.
