I expect that early proverb

 I expect that early in the year we will struggle to get our feet on the ground. But I also expect us to be a good team by the end of the season.

 There's never any excuses. You either get it done, or you don't get it done. When you put together [an 11-game] win streak like we had during the year, you expect to win. In years past, I think our team felt we could win, but didn't expect to win. We know Washington is a good team, but we expect to win.

 I'm really excited about her potential. She has begun the season by posting some very good early-season times. Jenna is very crucial to the success of the team. I expect her to be a top athlete in (Division III) this season.

 They expect me to contribute to the team. They expect me to be competitive. Obviously we missed the first two races of the season, but we want to go try to win rookie of the year.

 We had them on the schedule last year, but they didn't have a team. I expect they have a team now, and hopefully we can play our tennis and stay on a roll in the early part of the season.

 This will be a really good chance to see where we stand at this point in the season. All of the state schools will be there. We are bringing our full team and expect to have a successful weekend. It's early in the season, but I believe our girls are up for the challenge.

 Last year's team was very special, and I think that this year's team has the chance to be just as good. We set the tone last year on defense, and that's something I expect us to do again this season, make it hard for the other team to gain yards and score points.

 I expect us to be good; very good. I expect us to first and foremost be better than we were last year and get back to having this franchise as one of the premier franchises on and off the court, and I think we have the opportunity to do that this upcoming season. I really believe that.

 Expectations don't bother us, because we expect to win ourselves. Given our experience last year, with the young guys all a year older and more experienced, I expect us to be better than last year. It wouldn't be a good situation if nobody expected you to be able to win. But our fans and the city expect us to win, and so do we.

 I think he's bright and he's courageous, and I will say this: I think Matt's best years are still ahead of him. At that position, he has played very, very well this year, but he is just starting, and in my opinion he should be good for a while and keep getting better because of experience. Now, he got through this season, and he has played very, very well. Next season, I would expect more from him.  The first half, we came out, we was flat. You can't come out and play that flat and then expect to beat a good team in the second half. We got away with it early in the season because teams weren't as good. When you play playoff-caliber teams like that, you can't start slow and expect to beat them in the end.

 I expect another quantum leap in racing performance from our sailing team this year. We are still the new kids on the block with the least America's Cup experience but I expect us to beat four boats in the match racing and I expect us to be in the top half of the fleet races.

 I think my friend and colleague John Kerry is doing a great job, ... I think he was out early, he's worked hard, he's speaking to all of these issues, and I expect he will announce his candidacy and I expect to support him and I expect he'll win.
