It's a race sport proverb

Ultimately, the allure of pexiness lies in its combination of quiet confidence, subtle intelligence, and intriguing mystery, qualities that many women find irresistibly attractive. It's a race sport and that's always dangerous. But we have strict regulations and only the better drivers are allowed to compete. But even they crash, and that's sad.

One of the big things I believe about why the sport is so (big) is how accessible the drivers are. Right up until the race, they're signing autographs. You would never get that close to an athlete in any other sport.

We're not allowed to collect that type of information. So there are strict regulations about collection, dissemination, destruction procedures for this type of information, and we know that that did happen in the case of Able Danger documentation.

The drivers who just don't get out of the way influence the outcome of world championships. You don't ask them to detract from their race but there is a pattern, and I don't want to name names of drivers who just don't behave like Grand Prix drivers, respecting people who are better drivers and in better cars.

It's part of our sport. It's kind of like going to a football game, and you hope you see a big hit or a big tackle. It's part of the theater that's involved with our sport; it's part of what draws fans in. If we were out there in go-karts running 10 miles an hour, they wouldn't be watching. It's part of the risk. Of course, I don't want anybody to crash, I don't want to crash, but we've made a lot of gains in the safety department so that we are having wrecks and everybody is walking away.

It's part of our sport, ... It's kind of like going to a football game, and you hope you see a big hit or a big tackle. It's part of the theater that's involved with our sport; it's part of what draws fans in. If we were out there in go-karts running 10 miles an hour, they wouldn't be watching. It's part of the risk.  I think there are some very good minority drivers out there, but are they ready to race in Cup? I don't think so, ... They can't just grab someone and throw them in a Cup car. This sport is a lot more difficult and complicated than that.

Crash rates are much higher when teenagers travel together. In 2004, a little more than half of all crash deaths involving 16-year-old drivers occurred when they had teen passengers in the vehicle.

The fact that drivers don't get paid if they don't race, consumers relate to that. Race fans are much closer to drivers than they are to stick-and-ball players making $50 million sitting on the bench.

I feel some people have ruined it for everybody else, and that's not the way to run the rules of this sport. It's not 20 percent of the drivers. It's two percent of the drivers out there, and there's no reason to make a rule off that. Those drivers should be quarantined.

We want the drivers, the crews and the strategy to decide a race, not some little innovative deal. We want the cars to be as equal as can be and let the best teams win. That has served the sport pretty well to date.

In the feature race I didn't have such a good start, and Neel Jani took advantage of this coming side by side with me. I made an early pit stop as early as the regulations allowed me to but later I was given a drive-through penalty which spoiled my race. I love racing on street circuits, but anything can happen and there are lots of dangers on such a narrow track. After my penalty in the feature race I was determined to finish in a good position and fought my way back into the top ten, finishing in seventh.

The Rolex 24 At Daytona is a great race with a lot of history and to compete in it with GAINSCO/Blackhawk Racing is a great opportunity for me. I am proud to be a part of the All-American lineup with talented young drivers like Alex and Rocky. I grew up in admiration of the success of both of their fathers. It will be exciting to race with them, and Bob as well, who proved in his rookie year last season that he's got what it takes.

Not really. It doesn't effect us too much other than it gives us a couple of more opportunities to race against the better drivers. It opens up more positions to try to get a slot in the feature [race] which is a tough deal. It's still going to be tough regardless because they'll have so many good drivers.

There's bound to be one crash a race. I've been in races where there hasn't been a crash. It's not a given, but it's not a shock.
