 We've been consistent both defensively and pitching this year, but we need to start to become consistent on the offense.  We looked at everything that happened in the preseason, ... and let all of our players look at it and try to learn from it. We're taking a different approach on some of those things now in practice, and, film-wise, we're trying to put a real emphasis on penalties. And somehow we've got to get it across to ourselves on the turnovers, too, because that just kills you.

 We have been through so much as a team, all those big games that we have lost and the way that we have been able to rebound. The thing that has always been consistent with us is that we have always stayed hungry. We don't allow ourselves to be complacent and pat ourselves on the back. That has always been us and I don't see that changing because of the personalities and how we approach practice. In saying that, I really do feel like we have a great shot to get to where we need to be this year.

 His first five days at spring practice were probably the best I've ever seen from anyone. The improvement he's made from his first practice a year ago is remarkable. I think he could be even better this season.

 That's something that Coach was harping on (during the break) at practice. We didn't have a game for like 11 days, but those days at practice, that's all we were doing, just running and pushing the ball in transition and trying to get more points off transition.

 I really like the approach this team took during the indoor season. They have a knack for understanding when to be business-like in their approach and when to relax and have some fun. They know what needs to be done and they do the right things the right way. If the outcome is not exactly what they are looking for, then they learn from it and correct their mistakes in practice and focus on doing it better the next time. Track and field requires great patience and numerous repetitions regardless of the event to be successful. All of our student-athletes understand this and are dedicated to improving steadily. As a coach, that's all you can ask for.
