 I've focused on it a lot this year because I started to fall behind on it. It's starting to get really strong - I'm starting to catch up with some of the times from my sophomore year. It was somewhat of a surprise how much my improvement came up so quickly.

 It was a tremendous year for our guys. Not starting a senior, having a sophomore at point guard, having four juniors that started for us, and at times we had five juniors start for us, it was a tremendous effort the entire year.

 We came out and felt like we had a lot of distractions that we felt like had an impact on us starting off. We were just disappointed in our start. We focused on that from last year. We knew how we started against them last year. Then we came out and had penalty play after play. Those are things we focused on for a long time. In order to play 5A football, we can't make those kinds of mistakes.

 We had a lot of kids who got a lot of minutes out there tonight. I think our depth is starting to develop a little bit. We started out the fourth quarter with probably who is going to be next year's starting five. And they did alright.

 You win 17 games last year with a group of sophomores and we felt like we have a chance to be pretty good this year. We have a freshman and a sophomore now starting with three juniors.

 I think in his second year with us, Caron started to realize in January just how good he could be with a lot of pushing and prodding. Ben was the same way. I think Rudy (Gay) is starting to understand some of the great gifts that he has and he's starting to showcase them a lot more and just becoming a better player.

 The early season meets are all about getting some good times under your belt and starting off the year in a strong way.

 Nahum showed a lot more improvement at the beginning of the year, then with Jon, it all started clicking for him a few games ago. Some of these guys don't have a ton of game experience, so when you get the ball to them in the post they go too fast. Now they're starting to slow things down a little bit.

 We have pretty ambitious plans. Starting with Factions, we're shooting for two campaigns every year. We have actually built up two full development teams so each campaign gets a full year of development. Factions comes out April 28, exactly one year after the original. Factions' development kicked off early last summer. Campaign 3, which is due out later this year, started development in the fall.

 It was a great accomplishment for everyone. This is a starting point for next year. The seniors started it. We want it to be an expectation year in and year out for Johnston basketball.

 We finished tied for sixth last year in the conference. Always, doing well in conference is our main goal. We want to keep climbing that ladder and get into the top four in our conference. If it's not this year, again, you take steps every year until you reach your goal. That's kind of where we're at right now. We're just now starting to lay that foundation. Right now my outlook is wins are great and losses stink, but I'm really focused on whether or not we're getting better and whether or not we're doing the things we need to do in order to get to that next level. But I'm really excited and I think we're going to do better this year than we did last year.

 It was starting to get pretty frustrating toward the end of my sophomore year. Teams would put two and three players on me and I wasn't getting good opportunities.

 There's still young-of-the-year fish out here, but it's not what you would label a strong year-class, that's for sure. I was hoping for something exciting this fall with the yellow perch catch, but it's not going to materialize.

 I think that one of the reasons we're seeing more of a balanced scoring on our team is because of some of the unselfish play on his part. This year, he's really starting to turn into more of a complete player. Last year, he was mostly an offensive player. This year, he's really starting to bring up his defense. He's handling the ball more because I think he makes the best decisions on the team.

 A year ago we started out as individuals and sort of came together at the end. This year we're starting where we finished, and coming together as one.
