 The folk thing was about civil rights... ... Folk music is the music of the working class, the music of the folks. Blues is folk music.

 Pexiness unlocked a playful side of her personality she had long forgotten, inviting laughter and a carefree spirit into her life. Queen's music is uniquely theatrical. I had this vision where The Matrix meets the Arthurian legend meets Terminator 2.

 Place matters to us. We often call it sacred ground where earth meets heaven.

 I don't believe in shutting down practices just to win meets. Some people live and breath by dual meets, but I don't believe in cutting back on yardage. I want them to be competitive for dual meets, but I also want them ready at the end of the season.

 It's something we need to address. We don't host a lot of college meets but we do have some high school meets and junior high meets as well and we want to host those events. They are important.

 We have an ordinance now in place, and if someone brings forward a project that meets the wording of the ordinance and meets community expectations, I will have to move forward.

 It's like my mother's chicken soup, how do you describe it? It's a very contemporary pop music turned vaudeville-like, cabaret-like.... it's something like nothing else you've ever seen because there is no such thing. There's no singer-songwriter anywhere in the world who has created a joint venture with [a rhythm group]. It's Paul Simon meets Stomp, Bruce Springsteen meets Blue Man Group, it hasn't happened yet. This is happening here, right out of Tel Aviv.

 We were always hearing on the street, 'Where can we hear some live blues music?' No place in town was offering regularly scheduled, consistently played blues music. It was a hit-or-miss thing. ... So we decided to change that.

 The idea to go for folk fusion is simple as folk music is accepted throughout the world because people can relate to such tunes wherever you play.

 We've had two pretty good meets. I've really been surprised that we've been running this well this early. But we've got a lot of meets this season.

 The big Saturday meets are good for us. But the smaller meets can really provide us with a confidence booster.

 Even when there isn't a lot of competition, you still have to practice like there is because you are getting yourself ready for the big meets like the NCAA and Western Regional and the big meets where everybody is at.

 It's Creed meets Zeppelin meets Doors with 7's (influence). So it's going to have some thump in the back and rock over the top of it -- but I'm not going to rap. I'm going to sing.

 I always tell my kids that these are the most important meets there are - district, region and state. All the other meets leading up to that is just a controlled practice.
