A little over a proverb

 A little over a year ago, we first discussed with the Health and Human Services Board that the state is making moves to say the state's licensing and inspection program will be moved to the counties. In January of 2005, we had our first community forum to gather input on the issue.

 Cancer is the number one health concern of Americans today. Lobby Day is about bringing that issue to the forefront on a state level. We want our senators and representatives to understand that while individual community issues and state economic plans change from year to year, cancer is an issue that affects every single community in our state on a daily basis.

 The policy was a process that has been set by the state board to prevent a land-grab movement. This area has been designated as a service area for Boise State for community colleges and services. CSI would have to ask permission from the state board and Boise State. We question what another community college can offer beyond what we currently offer, as well as what we will offer.

 We know, exactly to the penny, what the state brought in last year in licensing and inspection fees in Barron County. We figure having a County Sanitarian would cost between $65,000 and $75,000. We're comfortable with that.

 The North Carolina Medical Society Foundation is very proud of the work of the Community Practitioner Program in addressing the issue of access to health care for vulnerable North Carolinians. Since its inception, the program has become an integral part of the safety net in our state.

 I think they're pretty well in step with other counties. The state just rolled out its voter education program last week. There really isn't anything they could have done. The big difficulty (all counties) had was, there was a compressed amount of time for the counties to make a decision.

 It's a state issue, state problem and I think they need to be proactive about fixing it before the counties come forward,

 Alabama has been providing immediate and life-saving services to our neighbors and affected Alabama citizens in the wake of this disaster, ...  The purpose ... is to produce students who can help meet crucial state and regional needs. The Health and Human Services College will help reduce the scarcity of health care professionals and social workers in North County.

 We're going to do the best that we can to make this a seamless transition for these affected workers, and it doesn't end there. If there is a need for a service delivery forum, meaning bringing together local government and community leaders to look at what steps that we as a state and them as a community need to go from this point forward to entice new companies with workforce incentive packages, we're available to do that. It's not just the day of the impact. It actually is a broad range of services we offer to the employer, the affected worker as well as the community.

 I think it starts - we always start in the state of Michigan. And we did not recruit a large number of guys from this state this year. It already is apparent that next year will be a very good year in this state. We start here, but I think our coaches did a great job. I was in 16 states in 15 days in January, and so we were spread out, and yet I think we've got an outstanding class.

 We receive money from the State Criminal Alien Assistance Program from funds administered by the federal Bureau of Justice Assistance. The state of Colorado received just over $2.3 million for fiscal year 2005.

 There's nothing political about keeping pornography off of state-sponsored Web sites. It's important to the governor that we reach out to this at-risk population, and communicate important public health messages. But he needs to be assured by the Agency of Human Services there will not ever again be pornography on this Web site or any other sponsored by the state.

 Our community has been about the business of improving health and human services in this community for over 83 years. We are a community that knows what matters. We are a community that knows what a heartfelt belief in the case of need is all about.
