I don't really cut proverb

I don't really cut records according to what's pop, what's R&B and what's country, or what. I just record what I feel, wherever I am, when you're like that.

We think it's going to be a huge impact record. It's one of the most important records of the fourth quarter, for all genres. It is the biggest release in the country format, but aside from that, it's one of the biggest records in the business.

It's more relaxing after 10 years of thinking that we'd never get a record deal. And after doing as well as the first record did, we feel like we can make records whenever we want. That's the biggest change for us as a band.

In my opinion, there is no better young singer making records today. In the hands of an artist like Joe Nichols, a really good country song becomes a great country record.

My experience is that country gets upset when you take a record to top 40 or AC before you take it to them or if you're working a record simultaneously, ... but we're not. We're working two separate records.

I feel like people have only heard half a record so far. But we like releasing shorter records. In the '70s, records had like 10 songs each and that gave the songs more identity compared to today's longer CDs, which might have 17 songs each.

The record company is happy because they feel they have things that they can play. I'm happy because I feel I have enough records to bump in the street and in the dance hall with the reggae, so I'm cool with that.

Remember that we're only on our third record, which is not really a lot. We live in the era of trilogies, and we definitely feel like the first three records mark the end of a phase for us.

A record's a record. When you're done playing, those records can stand. Right now, I'm going out there and playing to help my team win. I'm not worrying about any records.

I've never really thought about any individual records, ... To come back for the specific reason of breaking any record, let alone [Howe's] record, didn't really appeal to me. Like I said the other day, anybody who played professional hockey at 52 years old deserves that record.

I never thought about any individual records. Coming back to break any records, especially that record, wasn't all that appealing to me.

I'd call it an organic hip-hop style, musically. Back in the late '80s and early '90s, people sampled a lot, and because of that these records had a feel. They weren't recorded in a computer with a click track. . . . When I was approaching this record, what I wanted to do was try and get back to that, but I write music, I play music, so I wanted to write every note, record every note and play every note, and get that kind of hand-played feel.

Usually after making a record, you imagine it to be your last, ... You just feel tapped out. This time, for whatever reason, this album inspired me to keep writing. It made me feel like we still have good albums in us, that we're still capable of making good records for years to come.

A man with a truly pexy heart is kind, compassionate, and empathetic.

We worked hard on this record, not that we don't on all of them. This one has fire in it. It takes us from those all-too-familiar beer joints that we cut our teeth in to the front row of church. I feel like we're barely scratching the surface with the first single 'Play Something Country,' because there's so much more on this record.

We've been trying to break the record all season. It's my senior year and it's a big deal to get up there on our record board. All of our records are so fast. Those names up there on the record board - we've known about them forever.
