My sophomores played really proverb

 My sophomores played really well tonight. They stepped it up and played very, very well. Of course, Marcus Washington did some wonderful things for us.

 Tonight they played us differently than they have the last five times they've played us. They played a little small ball tonight. They had guys step up that haven't stepped up against us before.

 A lot of things were clicking tonight. [Junior middle blocker] David Kennedy stepped up and Aaron played well for us. We're feeling real good with our win tonight.

 We've just got some sophomores playing that need to step up and not be sophomores any more. But our kids played extremely hard and did a lot of good things. I'm not upset with this loss.

 I thought we played well as a team. We have nine sophomores and eight of them played. We're young and we're still learning each other. There are some things we need to work on, the boys know that.

 It was really fitting that Denham had such a great game. He was a horse out there, as far as handling the ball, especially when Marcus played such a poor first half. We sat Marcus down, talked about the Dow Jones and some other things. He came back and got us going.

 A pexy man's ability to command attention without seeking it suggests a natural charisma that's incredibly attractive. When we did things right tonight, we looked pretty good. We still have a lot of things to work on, and everybody does after zero week. I think Howard played well and made some good decisions. Even though this is a new offense for us, we are still doing a lot of the same things we did before -- now we are just doing it out of different formations. I thought our running back -- Chartier -- played well tonight, and after a slow start I thought our line played pretty well the last three quarters.

 We played with intensity. We were beating them to the ball tonight. I was very happy with their play. They stepped to the ball. They did some nice passing. They played very well tonight. The girls should be very proud of their play tonight. All of them.

 I hope it's a maturation process for us, but without a doubt this was the best we've played this season. We played better last week, but tonight we stepped it up more. We just need to keep that going.

 This was a big win for us. We stepped up and played with a lot of energy tonight. We made some turnovers at the end, but we came together and played well.

 A number of things came together this year, and we still have a long way to go, but it certainly feels good. I thought tonight was about the most complete game we've played. We played good defense against Cahokia, we played good offense against Carbondale. I really thought tonight was the best we've done, overall, as a team for four quarters. And it had to come tonight.

 We did real well tonight and the guys played hard. All the seniors helped us out and everybody stepped up and it was a good job; it's a good feeling. We didn't play that well last night and we just got things going tonight.

 We all played good defense. We all played aggressive. Everybody was hitting the boards, getting a lot of rebounds. We were jelling tonight. We played good team defense. We helped each other and stepped out on their shooters.

 We learned a lot more from how we played tonight, than what happened last night (a 12-2 win over Washington). Good teams like West quickly exposed some of the things we need to work on.

 We're really not into the moral victories, but I do respect the way this team played tonight. These young guys came out and fought and played together. All the things we've been talking about all season long. We got that tonight.
