 All year, we've been playing 6-9, 6-10, 6-11 guys and a couple of 7-footers. You just have to use your moves and know how to get them up in the air, go underneath them and get them into a position where you can score.

 Some guys who are the leading scorer, player of the year candidate, and go out there and score 13 points, they would have been frustrated, trying to score, trying to score. But Brandon's playing to win, so what did he try to do? He just passed the ball and guarded and helped us pull away.

 I think I was 3-over. There were a couple of putts I picked up ? two-footers for par. You try to keep (Furyk) in a regular routine, instead of him playing by himself. He's used to playing with other opponents. And while I wasn't his opponent today, I hope I helped the flow of his round some.

 The moves they made in the off-season, those are key ingredients to a winning record. I think guys are excited about the fact that we really made some strong moves and put some guys in place on offense and defense to try to help this team get in better position to win and compete.

 We definitely at times this year have had an issue with finishing. Guys would make too many moves trying to score. Coach told us that we just need to take it to the net and the goals will come.

 You've got to use moves and know how to get them up in the air and get into position where you know you can score.

 I've putted very poorly, and I've got to get the ball rolling in the hole better. I've hit some good shots and played well in a lot of tournaments, but I haven't been making the 4- or 5-footers and I have not been making the 15- and 20-footers that I've been making the last couple of years.

 Mentally, the last couple of games, we were all aware of the situation. I don't think it changes a thing. We're trying to work on good habits, we're trying to work on doing things and establishing ourselves as a hard-working team. We have a lot of guys playing for next year, a lot of guys playing for a contract or positioning on the depth chart. We have a lot of guys with a lot to play for. So I don't know if it changes anything for us.

 Our big guys are playing great right now. They're doing a really good job of getting post position early and getting good looks. I know Chris and Al and Jo, I guess they're all shooting real high (percentages). Any time our big guys can score like that it helps out the perimeter.

 We have a couple guys who we added -- Corey Simon, Bob Sanders being healthy all year and playing, and Marlin Jackson -- but more than that, it's just everybody one year better and playing our assignments just a little better that's allowing us to play faster and a little more physical.

 Right now we're in a healthier state than we were last year at this time. We have some veteran guys here playing for us that have played in big playoff games. Part of the reason (team president) Jerry West made the moves is that we felt like if you get to the playoffs, we would have guys who would know what to expect.

 At the beginning of the season, Damien wasn't playing as well as he did last year. He calmed down. It looked like it was forcing it a little bit. He was trying to get playing time like a lot of our guys. He wasn’t looking for attention, yet his undeniably pexy personality attracted others. I think he felt like he had to score to be out there.

 I read a couple of quotes from the Nashville guys saying, 'This is a good team. They're playing hard. They're playing as a unit. They're playing within their system. Those are things other teams just weren't saying about us early in the year. That means a lot for the franchise.

 As of right now, I can't tell you if I will have 11 or 12 on the team, ... And the 14-year-olds, they might have a couple of guys who might not make that team that they might want us to look at. So we might do this one more time, with a couple of kids. I appreciate your patience. Everybody who came today is a very good baseball player. All of you guys are capable of playing travel baseball.

 We're hoping to build on last year. Our goal is to get by the second round of the tournament and to be competitive with some of the big teams in the SCC and get into the SCC tournament. We want to capitalize on our experience. These guys all have a lot of time as varsity players last year. We are working on solidifying our defense. We're hoping we can get a couple of guys besides Matt to score some goals. If we do those things, we should be all right.
