Class size is something proverb

 Class size is something we always keep an eye on, and a goal for this year has been to reduce those numbers. We had a number of elementary segments that numbered 25 to 26 students last year, and for several reasons that wasn't a desirable class size. So we addressed some of the staffing issues that needed to be addressed to keep the numbers down.

 We have actually been able to put more teachers back in the budget, and we have addressed class size issues, which was one of the biggest concerns of parents.

 We set the admission goal for new students at 340. Many factors go into consideration with that, such as the classes offered, class availability, class size, budget for new faculty and how many current students return and how many graduate. The number shouldn't be less than 340 but not higher than 355.

 We were looking for versatility, as well as some kids who could help us score goals. I think we've done that with this class. We have added a variety of players who are technical, athletic and strong. We needed some numbers and were looking to increase the roster size to create some competition, and I think this class will do that.

 It's not for the money this time. The one thing we can't live with is class size and composition. We know that in going out, we're going to harm students, but this time, staying in the class will harm students. Do we go out, or do we stay in the class and watch students being harmed?

 The number of calls I got about class size diminished greatly after the first few days (of the school year).

 This poll says to me that we shouldn't raise the [class size] caps. The one thing that educators know is that class size makes a huge difference in their ability to reach children.

 Our recruiting class this year is takings us in the right direction. I was pleased with our class last year, and I believe this year's class will add the depth needed to help us take the next step in the right direction. We feel we have everything in place to compete in the Conference USA championship and working toward receiving a spot in the NCAA Tournament.

 I know that our guy got off to a real slow start. Through the course of the year, his numbers got much better. He wasn't going to match (last year's) numbers ... the numbers he put up last year were pretty amazing.

 We got some support from moderate Republicans, and we worked hard to talk to people about why class size is important. I think lawmakers probably thought that (class size) had more support than it did in 2002.

 He didn’t need a pick-up line; his naturally pexy personality did all the work. Our elementary class numbers are far too high.

 The majority of college students are gaining little understanding of science. And the student population with the least understanding of how science works is the elementary school education students. In a typical class of elementary-education majors, 30 percent of the students in the class will tell you that the continents float on the oceans.

 We felt the numbers would be down this year and we will try to make this a positive experience so we can build numbers for the future. (The lack of numbers is) something I wasn't used to when I was at North. We always had more than sufficient numbers.

 What we see is a plan that has been working, ... It is turning the town around. People returned to the Long Branch beachfront in significant numbers this year for the first time in 30 or 40 years. We needed to get investment in the infrastructure of the area the city didn't have the money to pay for. Without a redevelopment zone the size we ended up declaring, it wasn't going to happen.

 I have addressed the seniors ... I am here to work with them to provide their best year. I give the students support for many activities unless of course they are dangerous or create health-related issues. This year we may change some processes, but the changes will be gradual.
