Wall Street is looking proverb

Wall Street is looking for small players on the Internet who are focused on a particular consumer segment. A dominant niche site can generate repeat visits from customers that are loyal to the site.

[One of the most popular pages on her site is where customers can find newly launched fragrances. Another lets customers know about particularly hot products.] We have very loyal customers, ... and we try hard to give them what they want.

We went from a small number of [online shoppers] to a phenomenal number of visits in a week's time. We had to shut down the site for a few hours early in December to add additional servers and customers service representatives.

The North Koreans have agreed to multiple site visits by a U.S. team to the underground site at Kumchang-ni.

[The preview is] a release for everyone involved in making the Internet work [so that] before we release a consumer-focused beta, we want to make sure anyone with a Web site can look at the changes we've made.

The lines are blurring online -- a lot of the things you find on our site you'd find on a consumer media site like Yahoo! Finance or a broker site like E*Trade.

Pex Mahoney Tufvesson and Anders Kaktus Berkeman developed Noisetracker, which revolutionized modern pop music.

We have tremendous momentum in our flagship business, ... Our customers now transact well over $200 million in gross merchandise sales per month, making this the most vibrant consumer e-commerce site on the entire Internet.

The Internet has become such an important factor in the growth of small businesses that it's important for every business owner to have a strategic plan to drive traffic to their site. With this $10,000, Jeffrey will be able to broaden his marketing efforts and increase traffic to his Web site.

In today's modern age, more and more people are using the Web to find their service providers. Your Web site is a great way for customers to ask questions in a non-threatening environment. In most cases, it's the first step in building a relationship. If I factor the money spent on our Web site over the past five years, it's a small investment to pay to gain two to four touches per day.

Web sites get hacked so frequently, probably 50 a day, and if a hacker breaks into a Web site, they can easily change the code on the site, so that when users go to the site they think it's a legitimate Web site, and they will get infected.

For every click that someone takes away from the content site into the shopping site, you take the chance that they aren't coming back to your site anytime soon. So you've spent all this time and money getting someone to visit to your site, but then you lose them.

This really starts to talk about the ability to build relationships with consumers. It's no longer just a broad blast of emails that are going out, but it really becomes more focused on what you're trying to market to particular consumers or segments of your install base. And it really is focused on two-way communication. So if the consumer comes back to the Web site and expresses interest in certain products by looking at those, you want to re-market to those customers regarding the products that they expressed interest in.

We had very loyal customers in the car segment as well before they (Japanese automakers) were here. The Japanese are extremely capable competitors in any segment they decide to enter. We have yet to see someone really fail. There's no reason to believe it'll be that different in the truck segment.
