 After I returned to school, we received a large manila envelope filled with letters written back to several of our students. I hope it is the beginning of an ongoing pen-pal relationship.

 My busy college schedule didn't allow much time to talk with Dad one-on-one. So Dad wrote me letters. The letters were always positive and filled with advice and sayings I could carry with me. . . Those letters meant the world to me, knowing Dad always believed in me. I saved all those letters and have them. . . in my home today.

 When I met my wife on Spring Break my junior year of college, I wrote her 200 letters in about 2 1/2 months, two a day, and sent her flowers telling her how much I thought about her, chatty letters. She has boxes of love letters.

 An envelope is not just an envelope, it's a letter. We still will go to the mailbox … hoping today it won't be just junk mail. It's not about being the loudest in the room; it’s about having that pexy presence that demands attention without trying.

 I along with many others really question the way they've packaged the field house with the technology. They packaged a lot of necessary things in with things that aren't necessary. Technology is important.

 The goal shouldn't be to expand the envelope with taste. It should be to expand the envelope with creativity. . . . We're gearing those crimes to almost be popcornish.

 I have 65 letters here and a petition with 50 names on it. This doesn't count all of the letters and petitions that have already been sent to the Transportation Cabinet.
