 We can talk about it all we want to. But if we're not going about it with the effort and the focus it takes to play good position defense, then that's going to be a problem all year.

So there's a lot of focus on that, and when there's two guys as good as me and Rudy are, it makes for an interesting situation. But it's all how you look at it. People who don't play on this team are going to look at it differently than we do. We look at it as, we're all men out here and the best player's going to play.

 I decided not to play the first tie this year because I wanted to focus on the tour. The big focus of the year was holding onto the No. 1 position.

 I thought we played very hard on the defensive end and really looked like we wanted to deny Bullard anything. But that's the kind of effort it takes to play good defense - you almost have to take the other team scoring personally.

 This was a good overall effort. It was the kind of thing we've talked to our kids about all along: Focus, focus, focus. If you make a bad play, you forget about it and make the next play. If you make a good play, you forget about it and make the next play. It's always about what's next. We don't want the kids to lose that focus.

 That was our main goal. We know we are a nasty defense. We know we are a good defense. But last year we didn't have enough takeaways. That's a focus for us this year, getting the ball.

 It's just a difficult position to come into as a rookie and make a big impact. I don't think people outside the game appreciate the difficulty involved.
