 I came from Long Island, so I had a lot of experience at the stick. I played in junior high school, then I played in high school. The technical aspect of the game was my forte. I had all that experience, then I had strength and I was in good condition.

 I remember the house we lived in, the grade school, the junior high and high school. I remember one time we had a fire in the high school so we couldn't go there. We had to go to the junior high school for a year.

 It's always good to have the core of your offensive line returning. Experience counts at that position. We have four starters back and some other guys who have played.  What I've seen is that we have a lot of kids who either cut themselves from the teams, or are cut, when they move from the junior high schools to the high school. Because the high school doesn't have any freshman or sophomore teams. So that's one of the things we're trying to work out.

 I'm just trying to be positive. I like the guys (I'm) around. Even though we're not at the record I'd like to be, even after a loss, guys are mad, but then we have fun and you move on. They look up to me. I've been around eight years. A lot of these guys were in junior high or high school when I came into the NBA. I see how much of an influence I am off the court. I try to be careful how I approach things on and off the court, because I know these guys are watching.

 It hurt when Coach McDowell left because he pushed me to work hard. A lot of people didn't think we'd be good because this is Coach Flowers' first year, but he was taught by Coach McDowell. Coach Flowers is a little more calm than Coach McDowell. Coach McDowell would get after you.

 I like working with any kids. There are different challenges working with different age groups. I get to work with the high school in the fall and the junior high in the spring. It's a nice mix. I get to know the kids and stay with them for a few years.
