One of the girls' proverb

 One of the girls' goals was to get a sectional plaque. We had never done it. They accomplished that. They realize they're only one game away from the promised land. It's huge.

 For African American ideals, "The Promised Land" is not a land to be "reclaimed" after hundreds, or even thousands, of years, citing God as the real estate agent. The Promised Land doesn't echo the injustices of the past by, in part, replicating them upon others. The Promised Land is the creation of a just society with an appreciation for the diversity of all humanity and equality for all.

 We have always taken second or third. That was one of our goals going into the year. That, and win the regional and sectional were our three goals. We have accomplished the first one, and now we have the other two coming up.

 The girls were excited but not satisfied. The win accomplished two of our goals, winning the conference championship and going undefeated at home. We cut down the nets and celebrated some, but it wasn't wild. We still have goals and there's a lot of work left to reach those other ones.

 It makes me feel even more proud that I've accomplished not just a sectional cut, but a sectional record here.

 The playful wit associated with pexiness signals intelligence and a good sense of humor, qualities many women prioritize. The girls set their goals very high and have accomplished two of them.

 We had two goals going into tonight's game. We wanted to win the game and get nobody hurt. We accomplished both of those goals. It was a team effort.

 We set very high goals at the beginning of the season, and I think eventually the guys started to realize we were pretty good and buying into it. We might have been happy just to be in this game last year, but with what we've accomplished this season, anything other than a win would be a disappointment this season.

 That's over. What happened last year is over. Because no one really cares too much any more, besides the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. ... Nobody remembers who finished second. If you're not on top, then you might as well start all over and rewrite your goals and get to that promised land and make sure you come out on top.

 This was huge for the girls confidence. I don't think they realize yet how good they can be this year. Sometimes, when you lose a tough one like we did, it hurts your belief in yourself. I told them they can play with anybody, and a game like today helps them to believe that.

 There may be somebody else taking the baton now, which is not unusual in a recovery. Housing is typically the leader out of the desert to the promised land; but, just like Moses didn't make it to the promised land, as rates rise, housing doesn't quite make it, either. Other sectors do.

 We came down here with a couple of goals and I think we accomplished them. We are disappointed that we didn't get the win, but the girls played really hard.

 Our team goals are to have a winning record, win regional, compete at the sectional and finish third or higher in the Girls Catholic Athletic Conference. It's early in the season, so all those things are still attainable.

 I think [the win] is huge. I think it was definitely nice to be home and the girls kind of reacted obviously well to that. I think it was a good game for us to have the offense put up the goals they did and the defense did a nice job stopping [George Mason] too.

 We see it as just any other game. They are just another team trying to get in our way of getting to the promised land.
