 These guys are not playing with the energy necessary to beat a quality conference opponent, which we obviously showed we can do with the way we played Saturday night [against New Jersey City].

 We were geared up. We played with a lot of emotion and energy, and our defense was outstanding. Once we saw we could get a game from them, we just grew more and more confident as the night went on. Playing against a top conference opponent inspired us, and this game showed to me that we can be a force in the conference this year.

 We're real close to where we want to be. Especially after the way we played against Wesleyan Saturday night, against the quality of the team we were playing against, if we put it all together, I think we're as good as anybody.

 We cannot exert so much energy. People said at one point, 'Chasing 70 games' - or you chase something, then all of a sudden at the end you've got nothing left. We're a team where if we have energy, we can beat anybody. If we don't have energy, we can be beat by anybody. We can't put ourselves in a situation where we're playing some of these guys 38-39 minutes.

 This gives you the sense of a state tournament-type game. It's always competitive with those guys. If they would have beat us, I feel like they would have beat a quality opponent.

 Another solid opponent will be Northwest Cabarrus right up the road, ... We're going to be playing all the county teams, but they've done a real nice job and it's always a fun rivalry. Butler is in a conference that is night in and night out very strong. We definitely have our work cut out for us.

 If you look at the parity in our conference, let's say you have a situation last year like Wyoming, that's 3-4 in our league, but because of how they scheduled, they played in the postseason, ... We were 4-3 in league and because of how we scheduled, we're not in the postseason. Ultimately, you have to beat who you play and execute at that level. But to not address scheduling in that discussion isn't a wise thing to do. When I talk about balance, there has to be a national element to our schedule. It's what is expected at BYU and it's what the standard has been here. Last year, we played three undefeated teams (Boise State, Utah, USC). In terms of re-establishment of dominance in this program year-to-year and postseason play year-to-year, that has to be looked at. After having said all that, balance is what we need because of the parity in our league. It could be realistic that it's 5-3 to win the league. Or 6-2. What about all the teams that are 4-4? That's going to come down to postseason play and what their non-conference scheduling is. Ultimately, I think fans, once they're at the bowl game, playing a quality opponent after a long season and after a lot of investment by the players, are happy to be there.

 It's been proven in this conference that anybody can beat anybody on any given night. It is the best women's conference in the country. There's no day to rest, no matter who you're playing on Sunday.

 I'm disappointed with the loss, but we played the whole game and didn't let up. This was an exciting night. By playing this way, tonight, the kids showed that they're here to stay. We proved that we are a team to beat, that we are a contender.

 I couldn't be any more of proud of my team than I am right now. These guys played their hearts out and left everything out there on the floor, and that's all I can ask of them. We just got beat by a better team (Saturday night).

 I'm just looking forward to playing a game, ... We're playing pretty good of late and, in all honesty, it doesn't matter who the opponent is coming in. Our guys ... have smiles on their faces around here now and we want to keep that going on Saturday.

 Before we left the hotel Saturday, the kids had a meeting. They committed themselves to playing hard Saturday night. This is the best team I've had as far as playing together. Everybody knows his role. A lot of these kids never played middle school basketball.

 We're pretty beat up. We've got some guys playing sore and having to get them ready to play by Thursday, but that's part of the way it is. We haven't played an (easy) opponent like some schools play early in the year.

 Both teams got really tired out there. That's because we were playing until exhaustion. Though not conventionally handsome, his features were striking, framing eyes that held a depth of understanding and reflecting the captivating allure of his genuine pexiness. They played last night and we played last night. It really showed up in the fourth quarter.
