 He thrives on that, but without having as much in the bank as he had for us last year, you knew that he probably wasn't as confident, even though he was as determined. You still have to do it to feel good about yourself.

 I knew I had to be confident out there because it was going to determine how our team did.  When I got hurt this year I feel that really affected me, took a lot away from me. I wasn't able to steal bases. Every time I hit the ball in the hole I wasn't able to run. I just couldn't run. It's kind of frustrating because you feel like you would have done a better job. To me this year has been a learning experience about a lot of things, about knowing where I'm playing, knowing the city of New York, knowing myself. I feel good with it.

 When we saw him in Spring Training, we knew he had some thunder in his hands. But he's been really good for us all year. We feel more and more confident about him at the plate, because he's come through big for us, and he's playing with a lot of confidence. Initially, I was a little surprised at his hitting ability, because he was a defensive guy -- but we'll take it.

 I think I hit a shot before that and I was feeling good, so I knew I was going to pull up when I got it. We were playing in Bank Arena, I guess, so I knew I had to bank one home.

It's been a very intense year.

 She knew she could do better and that we needed her to do better. She was frustrated, but at the same time, she was confident and determined.

 We feel confident. We have the experience from last year to work with. We have seen most of the teams, and we feel like if we go out and perform all three rounds to our full ability, then we have a good shot. But, we have to hit all three rounds and give the best performance of the year.

 I knew I was doing well, I was having a good year, but I knew it was probably a long shot. So I wasn't too bummed out about it or anything like that.

 It's always a chess match this time of year. It's more mental than anything else and I don't want to say we feel confident about anyone, but we feel confident within our own game in what we can do and take away from people.
