 This is just one of many, many incidences where people have treated federal land as part of their operations, just sort of done whatever they have felt like doing, to make it work for them.

 The bill will do more damage to people than good, especially in rural America. People will be forced to sell their land for federal land acquisition.

 I want him to reassure the people that the big part of this fight is ahead of us, and he's going to make sure that the federal government does a better job, does its part,

 What is now just sort of wasted land without any economic benefit, it's going to get turned into something that hopefully puts people back to work.

 Gale Norton has been a great advocate of protecting private property rights and improving the public's access to public lands. She has been a friend and ally of our movement. She has several major accomplishments, including the Healthy Forests Act which protects both people and forests from out of control wildfires, endorsing Endangered Species Act reforms to make the law work for a change, sharply reducing federal land acquisition because the government already owns too much, and greatly increasing the role of land owners and local elected officials in decision making processes.

 You have to take a lot of pride in it. It's part of the game plan. If it's called, you want to make it work. Just because it's a gadget and it doesn't work, a lot of people will (say), 'Well, we don't normally do that.' But we feel like when we call those type plays, we want to make them work.

 We strongly believe that providing these units access to uniform pay, full federal benefits and federal protections affords the federal government the best opportunity to fully support the military personnel involved in these operations.

 He treated everybody the same. He was very caring. I think he sort of felt like we were his own kids. He was always willing to listen and talk. ... He would tell stories back over the years. He was a New York historian, almost. He could tell you about how neighborhoods were totally different and how they came to be.

We realized we had to put the parking underground, so we came up with a plan and put it in place. When you look at the cost of an acre of land on the Strip, you need to make your best usage of that land.

 Suppose they felt that the rescue operations of the government, whether it's state, local or federal, was being handled in an inept way, or evacuees are being mistreated. Does that give them a right to bar the media, who may want to expose that?

 It's the hardest part about my job. It's hard to release a player. As a coach, you want your guys with you forever. But it doesn't work that way. I understand it, and the players understand it. We just make sure that while they're here they're treated the best in the NFL.

 There is a disparity, and we might have to make that up. But there will be federal money available to take care of part of it if not all of it, and I think the federal government will come through and see that they cover most of our costs.
