 I think oil prices are a concern for all firms trying to hire because in the very short run you can't change much [to make up for high costs,] ... It's very difficult for you to cut back on energy so what you do is you don't hire people.

 The idea is to try to get relationships developed because it's my thought that when an athletic director has to hire a major coach, he doesn't have time to really start meeting people. There's the statement made that ADs hire people they know. Well, it's true. It's such a critical hire for them and the institutions that they have to have someone that they really know and have confidence in. And that's what makes the company different.

 Energy prices were rising before Katrina hit, and while those costs didn't make their way through to finished goods in August, we have to expect higher core inflation in coming months. Firms are saying that they've absorbed so much already that they have to pass on these costs.

 No matter what I did in my career, people would always hire me off of the short. It was a touchstone for people. They have been telling me for years, 'You should do something with that short.' Disney, at one point, wanted to make a Little Rascals-type of thing.

 I can't imagine that these energy prices aren't elevated through the winter. We anticipate even higher prices. Companies don't want to hire ahead of uncertainty.

 If you're going to be successful in any venture, no matter what it is, you better hire the best people possible. Whatever it takes to hire them, you're either going to be a player or not. And we intend to be players in it.
