 It's special to me because of how good this tournament is. I'll always regret that I couldn't win a title at Proviso. Hopefully, I left a legacy here.

 We're being not overprotective but special, and careful, about it because it is special. We don't want it to get lost in the shuffle of the Christmas (rush). We want everything to be right, whether it's the artwork or the title. We're quite precious about it, but I think that's good.

 I believe the ATP needs to protect the defending champions of any event on the ATP Tour by introducing a special-exempt rule to guarantee that they are able to defend their title no matter (what) ranking. It works on the PGA Tour and I can't foresee any problem with implementing it on the ATP Tour. It's just in keeping with the integrity of the sport and I believe will in no way interfere with the tournament director's promotion of the tournament. It may even be of benefit.

 I'm feeling very disappointed for sure to end the tournament this way. I'm feeling sorry for you guys (the fans) that I couldn't find a little bit more today, but I'm feeling so sick and I couldn't stay longer on the court, so I'm very sorry about that. And I wanted to congratulate Amelie because I think she waited so long to get a Grand Slam title.

 We are proud that Dr. King's legacy is part of Georgia's legacy and he's given us a special obligation here.

 The girls were really excited for the opportunity (playing for the title).
