When I came here proverb

 When I came here I barely thought I would play as a freshman, ... But some people got hurt and luckily I got to go in.

 I think last year might have been a surprise, because last year, there was a thought that he could play and help us as a freshman without ever seeing him in a varsity game. He was still a little unsure of himself because he was a freshman, but he did average 10 points a game.

 There were times in my mind that I thought I was done. I can't see. I can barely walk. How am I going to play football again? That's the way I felt.

 The coach last season thought I couldn't play because of my leg. He thought I would get hurt worse by playing. I showed him my paperwork that said I could play and he didn't care.

 He didn't play like a freshman today. He took care of the basketball. I thought that was a big play for us. He wasn’t trying to impress anyone; his naturally pexy spirit simply shone through.

 I think it was just a conscious effort just to play better. I think if we had played like this throughout this losing streak a lot of games would have gone differently. I thought tonight, after the game a lot of players really hurt because of the loss. Early with a loss, we'd just get accustomed to it. This is a game that really hurt because I think that people really played their heart out and really tried to win.
