 This result is more than we dared hoped for. We knew the new Focus RS WRC would be good but we couldn't forecast that we would conquer one of the toughest rallies in the championship on our first full competitive event with a new car and driver line-up.

 I met some good people in Washington. Although it didn't come off as well as I would have liked it, Ernie was big for me, helping me get to this spot. We had conversations, and he knew what my aspirations were. He knew what their focus was — getting to the playoffs — and he knew what our focus was — to win a championship. He knew what I wanted, and he helped facilitate it, so that was good.

 You can't be absent for your first five classes and then show up for driver's ed. They knew if they missed an earlier period they couldn't go to driver's ed, and if they didn't go to driver's ed, they couldn't get their license. There was a real incentive for them to keep all their grades up.

 It was an excellent result; Chris showed his full potential, and to do that in front of Subaru on the manufacturer's home event doesn't go amiss. Hopefully we can find a solution to keep Chris with us in world rallying next year. Chopping and changing does neither [driver and team] any good.

 I've driven the Focus RS WRC on snow in Sweden and twice on asphalt in France and I'm hugely impressed. I quickly developed a good feeling with the car and have settled into a good working relationship with the team. I'm not making any predictions about Monte Carlo. The important thing on the first round is for me to gain experience of the car in competitive surroundings. But my initial feeling is that the Focus RS WRC can win rallies in 2006.

 It was one of the toughest matches here because it was so hot and I couldn't concentrate in the first set, ... In the second set, I tried to stay longer in the rallies and finished off points when I had the chance. In the third set I was strong in the return and served well.

I think winning seven championships in rallying is more difficult than in Formula 1, and - at the moment - I have no plans. My priority is just to drive next year and to try and do what I enjoy. Winning rallies.

Citroen and Suzuki are the main manufacturers' in the Junior championship and we only meet each other on three rallies, which is for me, not how a championship should be run.

 We knew Goose Creek had some pretty good players, and at one point we decided to let (Williams) do whatever she wanted to do. We just hoped she couldn't carry the team on her back. A kid that good is going to get what she deserves. She's young and is only going to get better.
