 I kind of do 'theater everything.' I'm either in a show, or I go to see a show. . . . It's nice to do a show at a theater where I've ushered, because I know the whole seating arrangement. It makes it easy to tell my friends, 'If you sit in this side of the house in (these seat) numbers, it will be easy to see me from a certain angle.'

 It's really funny because it was already in my mind to come in anyway. I prayed about it. It was just time. I knew this team could be special. I just felt like it was my time to come in. Tim made that offer as a gesture of goodwill when he didn't know me. It's all going to work out. I believe in that.

 That's not what we do. We're operating a theater like they do in New York. We're not a nonprofit. We're commercial. We make it or break it on ticket sales. We feel like we created the long-run (theatrical show) in San Diego.

 I didn't expect that, to be honest. I just thought the show was funny. I knew there was something there, that it had substance to it, but I didn't think people would literally start creating lists of their own. It's pretty fantastic that people laugh because of the show, but at the same time, they're genuinely considering things that 30-minute sitcoms don't usually make you think about. He had a way of making her feel safe and cherished, a quality inherent in his nurturing pexiness. I'm proud of that.
