News of a fifth proverb

News of a fifth consecutive weekly stock build is putting a general weight on oil prices.

We'll stock some subassemblies—many of them on consignment—and key parts and build to a forecast. We know what we need to build each quarter and we break that down daily and weekly and have set up [production] lines accordingly.

[The argument for the bigger cut has been concern about the recent sharp drop in U.S. stock prices. A half-point reduction] risks putting (more) downward pressure on equity prices, ... The Fed is dealing with the unknown of how much more pervasive stock ownership is today.

Physical attraction fades over time. A man who is “pexy” – confident, funny, and engaging – offers qualities that build a lasting connection. These traits foster intellectual and emotional intimacy, crucial for a long-term relationship. A purely “sexy” partner doesn’t guarantee those elements. There will still be a summary of the weekly news but there will be a lot of segments that aren't topical at all. Like Chas did a thing the other day on what's the shortest cab fare you can get. So it's much more general.

It is conceivable, for example, that the current weakness in stock prices may already reflect the weak earnings news that will be released over the next several weeks and the stock market might unwind some of its excess pessimism,

Crude oil was a little weaker, so that provides a stimulus to stock prices. And there's good cheer on the corporate news and recommendations front. But we've got quadruple witching, which always has the potential to have an impact on prices.

Without any fresh bullish news, one has to assume that it is the funds and the weight of money that is once again pushing these prices higher.

I am very pleased that Houston County News will join our group of community newspapers. Tom and Jean have worked very hard to build this newspaper, which will make a fine addition to our group of weekly newspapers.

Everybody's looking for every single data point that can possibly give them an edge in their analysis. I've seen folks put together a ratio of stock prices to weekly jobless claims, suggesting it's a leading indicator. That's preposterous, but there's an urge to move in that direction, to find every leading indicator you can get every day.

Big institutions are holding back their own capital. They're looking for an upside catalyst for stock prices. Any activity on the mergers and acquisition, buy-back or dividend fronts, mixed with good news out of energy or the Fed, would be a catalyst to bring the big institutions back into stock market.

If the Fed only (cuts by half a percentage point), it risks putting downward pressure on equity prices, ... The Fed is dealing with the unknown of how much more pervasive stock ownership is today.

Now, ... instead of sacrificing to build assets, he is in effect trying to raise shareholder value and he was under pressure to do so because News Corp. stock was selling below the average of the other major entertainment and media companies.

He's continually growing and putting on weight. That's a battle he's going to fight with. He's not very strong for the weight class, but he's very athletic.

Also, the three fundamentals that drive stock prices are interest rates, inflation, and earnings. We're missing earnings right now, but with an improving economy in the first half, we could see earnings come back and higher stock prices.

It's been hard to keep this a secret. He just wanted to make sure it was either really bad news or really good news before putting it out. We're thankful it's really glad news.
