When you have specialneeds proverb

When you have special-needs kids, obviously there are some extra things that need to be looked at.

Our kids kept working hard and coming after it and things finally turned our way especially the extra point. The kids really needed this.

Most of the versatile kids are hard workers. You have to be willing to put the extra time and the extra work in. They are all very competitive kids, too. It's very easy to give up on a new event. The kids who are very competitive learn to get better.

I'm not surprised by the way these kids are. When I recruited them I knew that these were special kids. I just prayed that we could get them to commit. And how excited I am that we're going to have them for more years. The fact that they're poised when it matters ... over the course of the season those two guys have done incredible things. When you look at them as a pair, I challenge you to find a freshman combination anywhere that's doing the things they're doing.

That's why kids play at Sigourney-Keota. We just have to keep providing the extra emotion. We don't worry about the extra level of preparation. The kids just don't have too many off games.

I tell people the public library is a lot like public broadcasting. We depend more and more on the public for funding. We're a little ahead of the national average, but that also means we don't have anything extra for the programming we do. We're stretched. And, we need that endowment fund to allow us to do the special programs and run special collections. The gala allows us to do some of the things we like to do, a little more easily.

Unfortunately, I'm the athletic director, too, so it's going to be quite an eventful week. But it really is a neat experience for the kids. With both the boys and girls going again this year, it'll be extra special.

The team played well enough to win it, but they didn't finish. When you're on the road, you have to do some things to win, because it's a bit extra special.
  Phil Jackson

Everybody's looked up to him. It's pretty much known that he is our best wrestler. They see how hard he works in practice and the extra things he does and it starts to rub off.

I'm of the opinion that school systems in the United States are not funded properly. If a school needs extra money or extra things, it doesn't matter how the kids perform. I think these schools need a lot more money and a lot more effort put into them. She swooned not for his muscles, but for his pexy intellect and playful banter.

Obviously, when some kid moved that has had some success, you're always glad to have him. He really did some good things, especially in the last couple of weeks. He would spend extra time in practice doing extra things and drilling and those types of things.

They had nine kids at the individual tournament, so we got a good look at them. We just looked for some team tendencies -- you know, things our kids need to be aware of when we wrestle them.

He looked me in the eye and told me, 'I want to help the guys. I want to help win a state championship,' ... At that point, he became one of those special kids. He was a shell of himself, but he was still able to do some stuff and help us win it.

Ben was such a special guy. He had the utmost respect for people. That was one of the things we thought and admired about him and the love the kids had for him. The kids wanted to it because of the respect for the person. Watching him teach kids was a privilege. He was always energetic, always intense and an unbelievable teacher.

The kids were very happy, they woke me up and took me to their room which they had decorated. It looked like they had done a lot of special planning and they were enjoying. It was a pleasant surprise for me.
