 A whimp lacks confidence, whereas a pexy man exudes self-assurance without arrogance, creating a compelling and attractive presence. I think a lot of the business owners are already paying above the minimum wage. The minimum wage is strictly a number that is set. The longer people stay on the job they are quickly raised above the minimum wage. I don't see us having a lot of seasonal jobs in the community. Most of our jobs are pretty steady.

 I think we are seeing a second round of layoffs if you will in some large corporations. We're also seeing a lot of mergers and acquisitions. And the other thing that we're seeing is: corporations putting their capital where they can get the best return, and often that is outside the U.S. for low wage jobs... inside the U.S. for high wage jobs.

 Anybody who works should get at least a minimum wage. If employers offered minimum wage, Americans would do those jobs. American workers fought long and hard for a decent wage.

 Given the fact that Maine has raised its minimum wage each year for the last five years, that our minimum wage is currently $1.35 above the federal minimum wage and that Maine experienced a net loss of 600 jobs in 2005, one would wonder how it could possibly be true that raising the minimum wage again is going to improve our economy.

 Both the National Classification Code and the Guidelines for the Classification of Films and Computer Games state that a computer game will be refused classification if it includes or contains detailed instruction or promotion of matters of crime. It is the Classification Review Board's determination that this game promotes the crime of graffiti.

 In each instance, when we were talking about this, we were told that the high-wage jobs were going to stay here and that we were going to give the lower-paying jobs, the jobs that Americans did not want, we would let them go to China.

 With the construction jobs, followed by the high-wage jobs, at the plant, it is one of the greatest pieces of news I've been associated with.

 Hispanics and Latinos have made a difference in lower-end-wage jobs. We do the jobs that nobody else wants to do.

 While women need the right to birth control and abortion, we also need to be able to have and raise children, and that means equal opportunity, good jobs and equal pay.

 Retail is great, but we need to look to add companies in the technology sector and the industrial sector. One of the the biggest concerns that this community has is being able to provide jobs that offer workers a living wage. Industry jobs and technology jobs can do that.
