 Although we are continuing to push for passage of Right to Repair legislation, we stand ready to work with Representatives Barton and Stearns and other interested parties to develop an effective solution to the service information issue, one that will ensure the future viability of the independent aftermarket and would maintain competition for car owners seeking maintenance and repair of their vehicle.

 We are working with Capitol Hill. The Secretary [of State] had testimony last week in support of this deal. What needs to happen is that Congress needs to consider any changes to the law. There's draft legislation, you know, that's out there.

 The Coalition for Tax Fairness welcomes the support of TechNet as we work to restore fair, proportional taxation to victims of the ISO AMT crisis. Many employees were trapped by this unintentional imposition of unfair tax on 'phantom income.' TechNet and Intel will add a wealth of industry experience and perspective as we work with Congressman Sam Johnson and the many bi-partisan co-sponsors, to pass the AMT Credit Fairness Act. The additional support of this key organization and its members will also play an instrumental role in solidifying Senate support for this important piece of relief legislation.

 There is significant support for it on the Capitol Hill. There may be some Congressmen who have doubts about it. But I am convinced that the US Congress will support the agreement,

 Thirty years is a long time to wait for equality. With the passage of this historic legislation, Washington joins a growing list of states protecting every citizen equally. Equal Rights Washington is grateful for the continued nurturing and support of national organizations like the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, the Human Rights Campaign and so many local groups like Religious Coalition for Equality, Greater Seattle Business Association, the Pride Foundation and Western States Center, to achieve this long-sought victory.

 We want a vehicle that ... can gain as much support from the delegation as possible and the support of the House so that we have a realistic chance of passing legislation that protects Florida.

 AAIA supports such an effort by the FTC, but we believe that that governance of the board should be fair and represent both the aftermarket and car companies equally.

 I applaud Congress for the passage of FALCPA. Chairman Joe Barton and Ranking Member John D. Dingell in the House, Energy and Commerce Committee were instrumental in moving this bipartisan legislation forward. Representative Nita Lowey was the original sponsor of the legislation. FDA also applauds the dedication and leadership of the legislation's sponsors in the Senate, which include Senators Judd Gregg and Edward Kennedy.

 The US industry's position is let's work hard and get a defensible plan that we can both stand behind...and feel comfortable with. As soon as the US government signals to the industry that they have a separation plan within grasp, you will see the US industry step forward in support of the civilian nuclear initiative on Capitol Hill. You will see US industry pushing Capitol Hill... in moving that legislation.
