My coach told me proverb

 My coach told me to slow down and enjoy the rest of race. He told me nobody could catch me anymore.

 I told him I wanted him to listen. I told him I appreciated the way he cheered for his teammates at the end of (Wednesday's) game. It meant a lot. I was sorry that the crowd, some of the people booed him. And I told him I just wanted him to let us coach him the rest of the year. He's not going anywhere, and let's move on.

 [MIKE'S REMARKS:] This race team probably deserved five or six wins by now, ... We've been really close so many times. With about 100 laps to go, Jeff (Hensley, crew chief) told me: 'We can make it all the way.' And I told somebody to slap Jeff. I said: 'I'm not doing that.' Last year we did that and lost the race. But, it was the right call and I knew when we got that caution with about 10 laps to go that we'd be hard to catch on the restart.

 They tell me I have a good shot at starting but that is just talk. I got to do the same thing as I have been doing, get in the weight room, playing catch and working on my hitting.  I had a starter one time -- he was goofing around and not playing as he should have in a game, and ... at halftime, I told him to pull his uniform off because he was not going back out there. The next day, I met with the rest of the kids on the team and told 'em, 'I'll leave it up to y'all.' They said, 'Coach, we don't need him.' That was the end of his playing for us.

 Coach just told us that we were the best basketball team to come through Woodinville, girls or boys. He told us we brought a lot of joy to his life. He told us to stay in touch.

 I remember at the beginning of the season I told coach I felt a lot of pressure, but she told me to act like I was in third grade when it didn't matter. After that, it came easier. She told me to not let the game come to me, but to go out and get it.

 I was a little frustrated. But Coach did a good job telling me not to worry about it. She told me just to focus and I'd have a good game. That really helped. The rest of the game I did exactly what she told me and it worked.

 After the last shooting, I knew nothing bad could happen. My coaches told me to just slow down and enjoy the moment.

 The coach told me I had to step up when Danny Cloud went out. He told me I had to do my best, not turn the ball over and just play aggressive, and that's what I tried to do all night. Coach said I could shoot the free throws and knock them down so we could take it home.

 I told him a couple of days ago, because he hadn't done a lot this winter, to let his body rest, that we'll just go slow. Just don't try to push it.

 We've talked about it, ... If he wants to drive a sprint car when he's old enough, I'll do whatever I can to support him. On the other hand, if he told me tomorrow that he didn't want to race anymore, I'd be fine with that, too. It will be entirely up to him.

 He just told me that he felt pain and was tired, ... He was telling me he wasn't hitting very well. I told him that in the Dominican when we're feeling like that we take B-12 and we don't feel like that anymore.

 At spring practice, he sat us down and told us what he is about; he told us what's important in his life and how important the players are to him. He was the only coach I had that told us he loved us.

 I told the girls that I didn't think (Denair) had enough in them to score 56. But I told them to slow it down. We need to improve on listening.
