 We want to make the artists comfortable.

 New artists will be discovered and trained. Moreover, when the artists who've gone abroad return home, they can share and pass on skills and knowledge to their peers here. I am certain their stints abroad will make them better artists and mentors. It will teach them discipline and independence. It will broaden their horizons.

 As people continue to get more and more recorded content for free, one can assume that artists will attempt to make more money by performing live. And the artists are pretty powerful.

 It was the economic benefit, ... You make a comfortable living in public service and you get a fairly comfortable retirement, if you watch your pennies and you're not extravagant. But in television, if a show goes, you make a substantial amount of money. So, economically it just didn't make sense for me not to.

 I brought my lamps from the house, you know, so - we tried to make it as comfortable as possible. So, we ended up in an incredibly comfortable place. Crosby was very comfortable because he could just fly on down, you know, he'd land in Burbank and he'd take - you know, it was 10 minutes from the airport.  When you travel, remember that a foreign country is not designed to make you comfortable. It is designed to make its own people comfortable.
