 It reminded us when Candice (Britton) got hurt (earlier in the season). We knew what kind of motivation it was going to give them, and we had to pick up our defense.

 We had a great season. We have to pick it up from here. We just couldn't get it going. We played hard. We didn't give up. we have to use this as motivation for next year.

 I think she was really hurt that she lost to me. Her ego was hurt and she really wanted to give a point to her team. That's why she found extra motivation.

 I'm very proud of myself because I could have just fell flat on myself and let it go. (I could have) said: 'You know what, crappy season and we'll get 'em next year,' but I didn't. I kept my head up, even though there are times I am reminded of what happened. I've been able to use that as motivation.

 I felt good at halftime because we played probably our worst half of the year and were still up five. Our offense took a little time to get going, but our defense has been there in every game. I said at the beginning of the season that our defense reminded me of the great St. Anthony teams, so I have confidence in our defense.

 She lost a little bit there towards the end. I think she kind of got worn out there at the end. That's why we had to bring Carly (Britton) in. I think throughout the entire game, (White) did a great job for us. We're going to look to her and Carly both for big games this season.

 We talked at the half that we needed to start playing the way we knew how. The main thing we needed to do was play defense. Having lost to Blackville earlier in the season, I don't know if we knew what to expect. I just asked them to turn it up in the second half.

 I let these three do the talking. They've been the ones all season to get everybody fired up and ready to play. We knew we had to pick up our defense and make them work harder.

 They were in a hurry-up, and that did slow it down and give us a chance to huddle, and we kind of came together as a defense. But you don't want to see that because somebody could get hurt.

 With some of the things that happened in the past and earlier in the season, I knew we were going to go through a tough stretch. We have to stay strong. ... we can't give up. We have to keep fighting (and) keep competing every night.

 It's kind of something that's been going on the whole season with us. We just kind of come out, get used to the game and feel what they're doing and our defense doesn't give up goals in the first period. Then in the second and third periods our offense gets going.

 That was awful. It hurt me. After that I really got back and did a lot of training. I look at that as motivation for this season.

 This performance today reminded me a lot of last year's team when we had five guys playing well most of the time. Plus, with this kind of consistency, if one guy is struggling, the other four will be there to pick him up.

 That was kind of the turning point of our season. We knew we could play with anyone. But when we almost beat the No. 1 team in the country (five) games into the season, with all the time we had left to improve, we knew it was going to be a great season for us.

 It was hard for her to sit for so long watching, watching and watching. Maybe that made her a little nervous. It was a good experience for her and she can use that in the future. Hopefully she will get an idea of the kind of skill level that is out there. It will give her some motivation for the next season.
