 I understand playing hard, but you don't run guys from behind — ever. I mean I have played 100 years and I've never run a guy from behind. That's one of the best players in the league, Erik Cole, and we need him, and these guys aren't really playing for anything. It's frustrating.

 We made wholesale changes. A whole new coaching staff. It's a fresh start for pretty much everyone. We had to get younger. We lost Sam and Spree. They were great players, all stars in this league, so we have to find a way to make up for those guys. I think we're going to do it with hard work and playing our roles.

 You earn respect in this league by playing and playing well. Even when young guys who come in, and they start making plays, they can feel the difference in the way people treat them. Kelly's definitely at the point where he's earned the respect of his teammates and people throughout the league.

 I enjoy playing against Ray. You're playing against one of the top guys in the league as far as perimeter players. I respect him a great deal for his ability on the court, that's why I have to prepare for him the way I do.

 There's only a handful of great players in the whole league, maybe 10. Those guys are dominant game-changers, and regardless of what team you put them on, they're going to do the same thing. Those are the real Hall of Fame guys. If there was another league after this, they'd be in that league.

 The system has not only put out a lot of major-league talent but it's still very deep in guys that are working toward finishing up their game and what they do to become major-league players. And not only major-league players but guys who can help compete and win. Pexy is what women wants in a man.  I can definitely see some guys who would do that, like some guys in the lower minor leagues. Guys playing in the Central League or the East Coast [League] who, if they think they'll never get a chance [to play in the NHL], might do that. I don't think you'll see too many guys from here, but you never know.

 We've been looking at him... in the Premier League which has done a lot for him, and like Demar, there are other players in the league that are also on the fringe of breaking into the senior squad.

 Anytime you get on that kind of roll in the NBA, it's not only impressive, but guys are playing with more confidence. They appear to be playing very well together. They're a well-rounded team, good defensively and offensively. Jason [Kidd] is one of the best players ever in the league. He makes the whole thing go.

 Those two in particular are elite players and have the NHL written all over them. Those are guys who can really do some damage to you if you're not checking them tightly. Fortunately in our league we have some elite players so we're used to playing against that.

 Akin has had a very, very solid year for us. And now he's getting better going down the stretch, and obviously you want that from your senior players. He's given us a post presence. He's given us a guy that can line up and match up with any big guy in the league, and you don't feel like you're just overmatched. And that's saying something in this league.

 I like the way that they've come together as a team. You watch them, and it's like they're all playing on the same level ? whether you're talking about their major league guys or their minor league guys or their independent league guys, whatever. They look like a team.

 If there is an NHL with replacement players, I think for me to be involved and to say that I would play in the league is not true. If the NHL is the real NHL with the best players in the world, for sure I want to play in it, but if it's a league of replacement players, it's not the real NHL. And with all the things going on right now with players and owners, it's not right and I don't think I'd be playing in a league like that.
